"Bloody good reason to show up then, don't you think?" He gave her a smart alec answer, pulling her in for the slower dance. Though this wasn't quite the dancing he was used to, he knew how to keep Luce happy. He just wanted her to stop complaining about him being late, but if she asked, he would claim he was trying to make it up to her. He leaned forward, softly kissing her cheek, then whispered in her ear. "You look beautiful tonight though, I love the dress" Smiling she said, "Thanks. It was this or pink and it over ruled the pink.... Oh and don't be like that, I couldn't stay mad at you forever anyhow. I don't need you thinking I'm bitchy and snobby like my parents."

Jason listened to his friend and shook his head as He asked Jason o cut his heart out. He looked at Kat and smiled James had finally fallen hard. Jason tapped his cup and filed it again with a smirk. " Ah James always over dramatic never hold back Very entertaining. " James looked down at his cup and with pure hatred toward the man that had his arms around Roxy. But one thing he was learning was to ignore his anger all together. " James I am disappointed you should know I am just Remus's under cover spy and everything you tell me I tell him.....No I am just kidding I wouldn't ever tell Remus a thing you know that. But trust me mate I really do know how you feel."
Jason was quiet and looked at James then at all the dancers and a big part of him just wanted to get drunk and walk out and never look at the girl he had fallen for in the arms of another man. He looked down again and took a very long swig of whiskey. He looked at his friend but put his feelings aside he knew he wouldn't have her in his arms again unless it was a hug. But he knew better now she had a date he wouldn't be able to touch her at this dance.
He looked back at James and asked " How do you think you screwed up bad Jay? I don't think that it could be so bad that with some team work we could fix it." He looked over at James and waited quietly.

"Plenty of motivation, I'm trying to impress this really wonderful young lady... she's smart, and pretty... and just the greatest pranking mastermind I've ever met..." He smiled softly at her, slowly wrapping his arms around her waist. Leading her to the beat of the music, he showed her the little he knew about dancing. "She seems way out of my league, but she's real sweet. Do you know her, Miss Weasley?" He gently leaned his head against hers, relishing in the contact. He sighed softly, his eyes chocolate eyes never leaving hers. Roxy had to grin at him as he called her amazing, "Well as much as I love getting complimented, I must tell you you'd be wrong about the 'smart' comment! If she is the one I'm thinking of." she told him laughing. As he leaned his head in Roxy had to admit she was a little taken aback by it, sure she liked Romeo a bit, but she was petrified of people moving to fast, which had actually been the reason she'd broken up with the one boyfriend she had actually had. Smiling at him she turned her head as the music ended and spotted the refreshment table, turning back to him she smiled, "Well I'm not gonna lie dancing in these heels kills, how's about we get something to drink?" She had to admit she could really use some Firewhiskey, and allowing herself to glance over at Jason and James she saw the bottle on the table between them. "Wanna grab a couple glasses and meet me over by James and Jason? I'm gonna need a little liquid pain killer!" she told him grinnin wickedly.

"Oh, I know you're not on their level, though I might just be" Damien winked, then grinned when the pace quickened. "Hmm, a bit of music for salsa dancing, I think the band is improving now" He quickly swung her out on one arm, dropping her body closer to the ground, but making sure not to let her fall. "Enjoying yourself now? I'm certainly enjoying you" Laughing, he waited to pull her back up, wanting to see how she would react first.

"Well, I think she's smart... or at least smarter than me... but I have to admit, I think I could prank her if I had too" He teased lightly, though he was disappointed when the dance ended. "Oh.. of course. I'll meet you over there..." He saw the bottle of fire whiskey, and bit his lip a bit. While he wasn't really against drinking, he couldn't handle much of the burning sensation before he choked. "About the fi... never mind..." He decided against telling her, then nodded, and walked to get a pair of glasses.

With his cup of firewhiskey already gone from three large sips, James grabbed the bottle, cast a refill charm on it and then poured some more into his cup. He was already starting to feel the effects somewhat; his head had a lightheaded feel to it. He grinned at his friend when he told him to never stop being so overdramatic. "Hey, I live to entertain." It almost hurt to smile because he felt so bad and he thought that he shouldn't even be allowed to smile.
"Thanks." James said in repsonse to Jason when he said he wouldn't tell Remus. James nodded when he heard that Jason knew how he felt. Jason had recently told the rest of the Marauders that he desperately like James' cousin, Roxy. However, dear little Roxy was already going out with some kid named Romeo Bixby. "If its any consolation, I'd rather you go out with my little cousin than some kid I don't even know." He clapped him on the back in a friendly, consoling manner.
"I screwed up by asking the girl of my dreams to go out on a date with one of my best friends. That's why it can't be a team thing-it INVOLVES one of us." He rubbed his eyes. And now she hates me. She won't even talk to me." His throat was burning, and James had a feeling it had nothing to do with the firewhiskey. He was about to take another sip when he remember Kat saying something about how it was bad for him, so he set the drink down and pushed it away.

Shrugging as he moved towards the refreshment table she turned towards he dear cousin, and the guy she was head over painful high heels for.
Comming up to the table behind Jason she put her hands over his eyes, gestering for James not to say anything. "Guess who?" she said in her highest, most annoying voice.

Jason nodded and wanted to hit his head so hard he couldn't see right or get as wasted as he could that it wouldn't hurt so much to see Roxy so happy with another guy. He smiled a bit and said. " Thanks James but honestly the happier I see her with that guy the more I hurt just knowing that she will never know that I wish that guy was me. But enough about me I know your talking about a certain captain and I know Remus has a thing for her. So this will be complicated since he is out best friend. But I honestly think Remus is more interested in other things than just love. So James my boy counts me in, We start operation James right now. I am a really good friend with her and she does hate your living corps. But there is one way to her heart from now James. I know your not captain but make quidditch your life. Practice everyday. Take your anger put it into your skills more so than now. Kat is always at the pitch she will ignore you and treat you coldly. But you will gain her attention. Don't pull the charming James. Pull out who you really are man. Okay no ifs ands or butts your going to at least make her see you as a better person."
He took a very long drink of his drink trying to loose sight of the fact that Roxy was danceing with the guy and his forhead was against hers. Jason wanted to shoo the guy away and tell him to slow down. He looked around for any girl that he could get his friend and himself just to go dance a little. He lost sight of her and her date and looked back a James with a smiled that said it would all be okay.
He felt hands over his eyes and listened to the fake voice. He felt the hands and asked. " James a hint would be nice here. Before my accent comes out " He smiled a bit and felt up the arms of the girl that was blinding him. He smiled as he began to know who it was. He felt up the neck and to the face. " Don't tell me I totally know who this stunning lady is. It’s Ms. Roxy Weasley in the flesh." He said hoping that he gusted right but was confident that it was her.

As Jason moved his hands up Roxy's own hands and up her arms she had to surpress a laugh. She shook her head at James, begging him not to give a clue. As eh reached her face she almost swatted his hands away. But then he guessed exactly who she was, "You are correct sir! There's no fooling you is there?" she asked giggling.
Sitting down in the empty chair beside him and across from James she smiled at the two boys, "So I must confess myself shocked to not find two of the most eligible bachelors out dancing." she said, more to James. She couldn't lie to herself, she would way rather have Jason either dancing with her or sitting at this table. Glancing over to were Romeo was she quickly reached forwards and grabbed Jason's cup, taking a swig of it she sighed to herself. "Man I needed that. My feet are killing me. But I kind of got the impression that Romeo doesn't like the idea of drinking." she admitted aking another swig and setting the glass down infront of Jason again.

"Part of job, yes." Cooper muttered in reply. He had just taken noticed that Katherine's eyes were sparkling. At first, he assumed that it was because of all the blood candles, still he couldn't help admiring them. "It was probably awkward for James too," he added, putting in a sort of word for his cousin. "Poor kid," he added, "Hey, what is exactly gong on with you do two?" Cooper hadn't exactly been clear if they were getting along or not, and thought to to ask. "If you don't want to talk about it, you don't have to."
"Yeah, well, I was waiting for Lizzie. I actually planned on leaving with no one for once." The whole ordeal with Lizzie had thrown Cooper out of his normal self. It wasn't clearly evident, as he had hidden it well. It was however, slowly seeping out. "For Lizzie's sake, I wanted be available for her. I didn't want her to have a repeat from the last dance...I should have turned that kid into a plup.."

Katherine couldn't disagree with Cooper about it probably being very awkward for James as well but, in her defense, it was Potter's fault in the first place. A sort of half frown found its way to her face at the mere thought but she tried her best to forget. After all, she was here, at the dance, enjoying herself with a true friend. This was no time to be thinking about annoying boys who did nothing more than make her feel a mix of feelings such as bitterness, awkwardness and a hint of sadness. Even as she tried to ignore the whole thing, Coop asked her another question involving James. She really didn't want to even think about Potter, the incident or pretty much anything to do with anyone even remotely involved with said incident. Alas, Cooper was one of her best friends and she felt that he did at least deserve an explanation.
"No, it's fine...I don't mind talking about it...I mean, to you at least. I guess it all comes down to me being an idiot for listening to my supposed best friend and Potter being a prat," she answered, fully frowning now, "But it's fine really. I'm done with school at the end of the year and probably won't ever see most of the people from here ever again. People like you excluded, of course." Giving him a half smile, Katherine tried to focus on the feeling of his hand on her waist and hers in his other. It was a pleasant feeling and one that should at least help her forget about all of the less than happy thoughts that had been brought to mind.
Feeling horrible that the thing with Lizzie was really wearing on Coop, Katherine tried to think of something to say or do that might make him feel better. He really was incredibly sweet for caring about his sister so very much. "I think Lizzie is capable of taking care of herself but all I have to say is Merlin help any guy who dares to try winning your sister's heart," said Kat after a moment, "There's no hope or help for anyone that hurts her though. And, you know...if a certain boy were to end up being made a fool in front of whomever he's picked as a date this time...I don't think a certain head girl could really do anything about it..." No, Katherine wasn't all for hurting others but that wasn't to say that she didn't have a mischievous streak that might prevent her from paying attention if Coop wanted to hex or humiliate the boy who'd wronged Lizzie.
{ooc: No worries at all. I can entirely understand}

Cooper grinned like a little boy. "Well, of course you'll be seeing me after this year. Who else is going to go to all those quidditch games you'll be in?" He made a mental note not to bring up James again. It was clear that Katherine didn't want or liked talking about him. He concluded that it was either because she hated him, liked him, or both. This brought him to dwell on his own feelings for her. Katherine was a very dear friend to him, and now he was only debating whether to put some action into the hidden feelings he had, or let it be just that - hidden.
Cooper nodded in all agreement. Of course he was going to make it extremely difficult for any boy who might attempt to win over his beloved sister. In fact, he already had that accomplished. He made sure any possibilities knew that it was going to be tough for them to get past him. "No, what worries me is after this here. I won't be here all the time for her - or my brother and Lucy. There are too many 'what if's' floating around in my head it's driving me mad." The thought of all the things that could happen to Lizzie for the two years she had left at Hogwarts, made Cooper nervous. He knew that his Beth showed a sense that she was strong but, in the inside she was a fragile little sparrow with an un-mended heart.
At this point time, the song the pair had been dancing to ended. For a few moments they were still dancing to their own tune. Cooper at first, didn't notice. Even though battles were being fought in his mind, his eyes were still set on Katherine's face. He had been admiring her features. Mainly her eyes, and how they had sparkled not too long ago. Cooper was taking in the moment, in case he never had one like this with her ever again. When Cooper did somewhat return to reality, he noticed that the song had changed. "We should probably stop dance, eh?" he asked with a grin, leading her into one final, low, dip.

The way he grinned and his little comment made Katherine giggle lightly. As silly as it might have sounded, she hoped that he really would be there to watch her. There were very few people who she actually wanted to be there for her; those faces that she wanted to look out into the stands and see at each match. The most important one, of course, was her father but Cooper was right there toward the very top of her list of attendees. "Just so you know, Weasley, I'll be sending along tickets to every match and watching the crowd for you now," she said in a half teasing tone but meaning every single word of it, "Especially if you go about telling all your Ministry friends that you're seeing the girl in the autographed photo you'll have on your desk." Kat just had to add the last bit in there just for grins and giggles.
Katherine had known Cooper long enough to know exactly how protective he was of his younger siblings, especially Lizzie. Even though she knew it, she still thought it was incredibly sweet of him. Giving him a reassuring smile, Kat replied, "Let them know they can write to you whenever they need to and you can always pop in when you have a chance, right? Just don't turn into an overbearing mum or anything like that." Though she should have had the same sort of 'older sibling' sense, Kat was sure titch could take care of himself. He was, after all, a little Slytherin in every bloody sense of the word.
Her mind was somewhat occupied on thinking about the future and what everything was going to be like when the song ended. She half knew that it was over but she let Cooper continue to lead her. When she came back to a full realization that they were dancing to a tune of their very own, she couldn't help smiling broadly. It was just one of those moments that, as cheesy as it was, she knew she probably wouldn't ever forget. Once Coop realized it too and dipped, her she laughed a little but she couldn't help wishing that it had lasted longer. This was probably the first time in the past week that she'd actually laughed and had such a wonderful time. Leave it to Cooper Weasley to make her feel all happy! Looking up at him from her dipped position, her eyes sparkling both from the candles used for the lighting and the absolute delight, Katherine asked, "Is it just me or are you really an incredible dancer?"

The words his friend spoke to him made James feel the tiniest bit better. He felt that atleast now he could count on someone to help him out, and keep him from drowning in his sorrows. Also, James was in the least bit shocked when Jason told him he knew about how he felt towards Kat. Actually, James was surprised that Remus didn't know, seeing as how prety much everyone knew. "Eh, thanks for the offer Jas, but I think that if I'm ever going to win Kat's heart, I'm going to have to do it by myself. No offense, but I think she's pretty pissed at all the Marauders right now." It was very nice of Jason to offer to help him out trying to get Kat, and James would have happily accepted and been grateful for it if he didn't know tht Kat would be even more pissed if another marauder got involved.
James managed to smile again as he saw him little cousin coming towards the table. Of course, the smile faded a little when he saw that she was bring the Bixby kid with her. A small lugh escaped him when Jason asked James to tell him who had their hands over his eyes, and he replied with a no. He grinned, noticing how Jason's face lit up when he realized who it was. "Well Roxy, there is only one girl that I would love to dance with right now, but she otherwise occupied with dancing with our dear cousin." he grumbled the last word, and glanced over at the two with a smug look. They were dancing even without music now.
He turned back to his cousin at the mention of Bixby. "Hey, who is he? And how come I don't know him?" The over-protective older cousin was coming out of James a little, and he realized this. So, in order not to sound too over-protective, he added a small, "You know, just wondering." he glnced over at Jason to see how he was taking the mention of Bixby. He knew it couldn't be going well. Hell, if Kat came over there and started to talk about Cooper or Remus, he would probably end up storming out. He noticed Roxy was drinking out of Jason's cup, so he gently offered her his cup that he was no longer drinking. "Here you go. I don't want anymore." He said with a slight glance at Kat, who looked like she was finally starting to end her dance with Cooper, however she was still being dipped down by him. Immediately he started to curse Cooper in his head, wishing that he could actually do it in real life.
