As strange as it might have seemed, Katherine actually felt really bad for Cooper. He usually came off as confident, sometimes quite cocky, and very capable of doing absolutely anything he put his mind to. She knew he could do virtually anything if he really set out to. So to hear him saying that he was too nervous to even fill out the paperwork that would surely make his future gave her a very sharp pang of sympathy all through her being. Still, though, she didn't let the reassuring smile slip from her lips. Kat had to be confident in him, which she was, in hopes that it might give him that extra push he needed to get it done.
Leaning over into him, she smiled even more and simply said, "How about you go grab those papers now and we'll get them all sorted tonight?" It was a tactic. Katherine knew all about moral support. No, applications weren't a team effort but, as she saw it, if a person got too nervous for any reason then a little support and a show of confidence from friends or teammates usually helped. Besides that, it would be something to do besides lingering around just outside of a cheesy school dance. Nudging him again, she added, "I'm sure the library is pretty right well empty so no interruptions, aye?"
Her smile grew even bigger and brighter when he asked whether she'd really go with him. Laughing lightly, she teased, "No, Coop, I just make a habit of saying things I don't mean. Of course I'd go with you!!" Katherine was good to her word. A Hufflepuff true to form really. Of course, she did have plans to run away for the winter hols but she could always do that after she went with Cooper to turn in his application. That way he couldn't get cold feet at the last second. She wanted him to get the job just as much as he wanted it. Though she'd originally been a bit peeved with him for not looking into playing professional Quidditch, she'd done a lot of thinking about it and could see him making a big difference in the world...doing great things. He was perfect for it really. |

Fred smiled and pulled Aly into a hug. Then said " I may be a guy Miss Longbottom. But I do listen to a lady one so beautiful as yourself I'm just lucky have the pleasure of listening to. But I figured that your beauty reminds me of roses I didn't know what color to get you so it changes to whatever color you would like. "Fred was pretty proud of himself he wasn't always like his father and uncle. HE sometimes had a romantic polite side to him.
He nodded at her telling her brother and fred smiled. He was very understanding about the big brother protecting the little sister thing especally since his little sister still hadn't introduced him to the boy she was kissing her was starting to get a little protective over her. He shoook his head tonight he would try not to over see his little sister. Tonight was about him and his Beautiful date.
Speaking of that he went and opened the door for her and offered his arm. " WOuld you Miss. Longbottom give me the pleasure of escorting you into the ball. SHow the entire school the most Beautiful and most fun girl in all of hogwarts?" He smiled a bit shaking his head a bit to see Aly better.

Frank sighed as James walked away. He scratched his head then looked around. He found an empty seat and went to it to sit down. As soon as he made his way over to the seat, he saw Lilith walk in.... and about a second later his little sister. He sighed again in relief and smiled.
He stood up and started walking towards Alice but Fred Weasley got there first. He smirked and walked a little faster. When he made it over, he chuckled a little then hugged Alice. "Hey little sis. Enjoy the ball." He looked over at Fred and punched his shoulder gently. "Take care of my kid sister, Weasley!" He said laughing a little.
As he laughed, he looked around at Lilith to make sure she was still there. "Uhhhhmmmm...." He looked down at Alice and hugged her once more. "Gotta go entertain my date. She looks a bit... lonely." He smiled at them before turning and walking over to Lilith. He came up behind her and cleared his throat. "Uh... Ms. Snape?" He said, touching her arm softly. |

Cooper felt absolutely ridiculous at that moment. He had confidence enough in himself in all other things but, a silly application stopped him in his tracks. A silly paper wasn't suppose to do that - the girl was. In his own little fantasy world, Cooper thought he'd find the girl for him when he was stopped in his tracks by her. He doubted it would ever happen but hey, guys can dream too. Cooper didn't like showing his weaknesses to anyone, even his closest friends.
"Now?" Cooper repeated, like a scared little child. Those papers were the last thing he wanted to deal with tonight. However, Katherine was his friend, and wanted to help. He knew that, but wanted to avoid the evil papers all together. It all slipped out of his mind when she mentioned the empty library. At first, his mind went immediately to Lizzie but, then he thought, she'd probably be hiding out in her common room. In response to Katherine's suggestion, Cooper just nodded his head defeated.
"Good, then it's a date - er, plan I mean," Cooper flashed his smirk at his words. His normal confidence coming back to him. If Kat was there with him, he wouldn't have much of a choice but to turn in the application. He knew she wouldn't let him do anything else until that was done. It was good to have friend who could also kick your arse to get things done.

"Yes right now," she said in a very upbeat tone. He seemed almost like a horrified little boy that was just asked to go into the forbidden forest and face all sorts of wicked beasts without his wand. Nudging him a little, she gave Cooper yet another reassuring smile in hopes that he would have no qualms about showing those papers who was boss. If Kat could have the utmost confidence in him and his abilities, she was sure that he could have a little more confidence in himself when it came down to filling out a couple of papers. Finally, when he nodded his head in an almost defeated manner, she couldn't help grinning victoriously.
Coop's next statement nearly had Katherine in a fit of laughther but she managed to keep her composure and as straight a face as she possibly could. All that talk from earlier, paired with his sudden interrogations, made Katherine opt to not take his jests seriously or even think about the things she might have previously. She'd entirely given up thinking about much else besides Quidditch, friends and helping Coop out with his application. That was really all that mattered anyway.
"I'll go up to the towers with you...that way I can make sure you don't happen to 'accidently' get lost on your way to the library," she teased with a grin, giving him another nudge. Basically, she was ensuring that he knew she was serious about him getting the application done and letting him know that she was more than just serious about being there to help him. That's what friends were for, right? That and to give him the shove that he needed to get the stuff done. His future was just as important as hers...and since she was doing everything she possibly could to make a professional team, she was going to make sure that he was doing everything he possibly could to get his position at the Ministry. "Shall we then, Weasley?" |

[ftp][/ftp] "Fred Joshua Weasley you are by far the most romantic person I have ever met!" Aly grinned as she held her rose close and looked into Fred's stunningly gold eyes. It really was true: Alice had never had the pleasure of meeting another person as romantic as Fred. She thought it was amazing that she was lucky enough to have found him. "Any color, you say? How about yellow, to match my dress? And because it's only like my favorite color." Immediately, the rose she was holding petals turned yellow. "That's amazing Freddie! How did you manage that kind of magic?"
Before he could answer the question, Aly's older brother came over to talk to her. "Hi Frank." she said rolling her eyes. She loved her brother to death and completely understood the "protective brother" thing, but when she was with her date and he was being incredibly romantic, she didn't really want to talk to her brother. "You enjoy the ball too." She gave him a small sweet smile that vanished quickly when he warned Fred to take care of her. I can take care of myself, thank you. she thought.
She watched her brother hurry away to go and entertain his date and then immediately turned her attention back to her gorgeous date. She gladly took his arm with a soft smile and said, "Yes, Mr. Weasley. You may." She winked at him and gave a small giggle. |

Jason smiled as her head laid on his shoulder. Her couldn't help but feel like this was how it was supposed to be. He took the lead and gently dance across the dance floor. He didn't know if anyone was going to be happy about the fact but he leaned closer to her ear and whispered quietly. " Roxy will you want to I dunno maybe consider being my girlfriend? I mean you can certainly take your time and think about it. But I don't ever plan of forgetting what has happened tonight." He smiled lightly and wrapped his arms around her waist. People started to stop dancing and look but it didn't seem to bother either of them. He looked down at the girl that he finally was able to hold close so that he could feel her breath. He closed his eyes and just danced for a moment. Jason knew that James was okay with him liking Roxy. What Jason was unsure about was her older brother or even the rest of her cousins. This was by far the most dramatic emotional day that Jason had ever had in his life. Going from happy to pissed to hatred to amazingly content and happy. Having Roxy in his arms again he leaned down and said to her. " I never did tell you how amazing you look tonight. I was actually suprised you didn't come over sooner for a drink I know how you hate wearing high heels. Though they do make you almost as tall as me." He gave her a smile he hadn't smiled in a long time. He looked down at her as she began to speak. AS their eyes met once again he couldn't help but get the same feeling he had gotten around her for five years. But for the first time it made him smile. He then started to comprehend what Roxy was saying. Roxy just had to smile to herself. She wasn't sure if she'd ever smiled more in her life than in the last few minutes. She felt like she was becoming an emotional wreck with all the stuff she'd been feeling in the past few days. It was almost as if she was turning into a girl! Shaking the terrifying thought away she turned to look up at jason as he started talking. When he finished she could feel her grin spread even farther across her lips, "Of course I'll be your girlfriend, you idiot!" she said almost laughing she felt so relieved, "But how's about we don't make the official announcement untill tomorow or even the day after, as i am technically on a date." she added biting her lip.
As Jason wrapped his armd around her she couldn't help but feel completely at ease with the whole world. She didn't even care that people were starting to stare at them. And she even let herself relish in the jealouse looks she was getting from alot of the girls surrounding them.
Looking up aty jason again she stuck her tongue out at him for his alst comment, "Oh shush, I'll have you know Mr. Pettigrew I'm getting quite good at walking in heels." she told him pointing down at her strappy pink shoes. They did hurt a tad but she was pushing through the pain, with a little help from the firewhiskey she'd drank. |

Lilith smiled as she saw some of her freinds waveing at her she was going to go and see them cause she was still upset about her brother. She was about to walk over to them seeing as she hadn't found her date yet. She heard her name and a touch on her arm. She closed her eyes a moment and turned.
There was the stunning blue eyes that she some how got lost in everytime she looked at them. She smiled at him and nodded. " Frank Just call me Lilith Please." She laughed a little as she was a bit nervous she was actually on a date. She wasn't even thinking about her brother anymore and she hoped it to stay that way.
She looked down and bit her lip lightly. " Wow Frank you sure do know hoe to clean up very Nice." She said though she was thinking. ' Damn he looks hot with everything I look so stupid' She looked back up and smiled as he started to talk to her.

Fred smiled at her and nodded. Well at least he was being romantic enough to show her that she really did mean a lot to him. He wouldn't admit it but he did have a heart. He smiled and nodded to her brother. " I will always take care of The amazing and stunning Aly. But she wont need me too she is able to take care of herself. But i should hope that you will let me take care of you Ms. Longbottom. "
He smiled as he took her into the ball and couldn't help but feel greatful and suprised that she did ask him. After all he was a trouble maker she wasn't that much of a prankster but she had gotten him a few good times. He remembered the first night they met he didn't think she was so much younger than him. But he had honestly felt like he wanted to know her.
He smiled and listened at the slow song and he didn't want to force her away from the people that were her friends. But he couldn't help but want to ask her. " Ms. Longbottom would you like to dance with me??" He said taking off his jacket and setting it on a table that had his and her names on it. kind of reserving it for them when they wanted a break just to talk with friends.

He smiled and laughed a bit. He couldn't describe the feeling he felt as she had agreed to be his girlfriend. He just held her close and danced with her as she suggested they don't tell anyone until later as she was on a date. He wanted to sigh but he smiled and nodded. Nothing would bring him down from the high he was feeling. " Sounds alright to me. But I'm sorry to say Ms. Roxy but I think with the space between you and me and everyone who has seen us here might get the imprsstion that we may be a lot more then just friends from our actions."
Jason smiled a bit and kissed her forhead but danced with her until he started to hear the beat change. He leaned down and said. " Roxy you amaze me everyday getting much better in heels and your feet aren't screaming that is amazing. But I think I should warn you our music wont be so slow and romantic very much longer."
He nodded toward the music and smirked a bit. If it wasone thing that he could count on it was the fact that Him and Roxy were known for their dancing togther. He looked at her once again and thought if she wouldwant to dance with him. He leaned down and asked quietly " Would you mind having to dance to a fast song with me Roxy? " he waited for a moment for her to answer.

"Me? Get lost? What an absurd idea!" Cooper said jokingly, his trademark grin back on his face. His confidence more or less returned to himself. He felt like a whip fretting over silly paperwork and he hated the fact that he was showing a weakness. "Hm, where is the library again?" He joked again. Cooper was no stranger to the library - when he was in search of his sister; other than those particular times, Coop never set foot in the library very often. Even when he did, it wasn't for the purpose of accomplishing schoolwork. "Mm, yes let's go." He added a nod at the end, assuring her and himself, that he had confidence in himself.
Cooper couldn't' help himself but make one more little scan for Lizzie before they headed up the staircase. Really, should I be this concerned? ...Let me answer that, yes! She's probably hiding out somewhere far away where you can't find. Maybe it is best to just leave her be for a little while, he thought to himself as they neared the stairs. Still, he felt disappointed, not at Liz but at himself. He didn't really like the fact that he was a bit over-protective at times but, he couldn't help it. Cooper was the big bear brother type, and couldn't help himself be anything but over-protective. It showed he cared for his siblings, which he did care for them a great deal

Katherine laughed lightly at his silly little joke and that grin that he nearly always wore. At least now he seemed a little more sure of himself now than he had when he first started on about the application. Besides that, they both had something else to focus on now and it was a major relief to Kat. As long as she was preoccupied with making sure that Cooper got his Ministry application done and turned in she wasn't thinking about all those other things that seemed to weigh on her mind. Poking him in the arm with her free hand, she half laughed, "I knew you'd get bloody lost. As if you'd ever been to the library without someone leading you there..."
Shaking her head in an amused manner, Katherine watched him glance back toward the Great Hall where the dance was now in full swing. The music blared more loudly than it had earlier as some upbeat song played. Honestly, Kat couldn't wait to get away from it all; away from the dancing couples and socializing groups...as far away from anyone else seeing her in the bright yellow atrocity that was her dress. She didn't mind it so much when she was away from everyone, Coop excluded of course since she knew he wouldn't judge her like that. Even after all their silly joking and teasing, she was pretty positive that he was one of her absolute best friends and didn't see her in any light aside from that. After she was sure he'd satisfied his search, she gave his arm a light tug.

Roxy had to agree with Jason, they didn't seem like 'just friends' right now by any stretch. And she didn't doubt that rumors were already swirling about them even as they danced. She just shrugged it off, she would deal with whatever else happend, because being with Jason was the best thing that could have happend to her. She couldn't stop smiling.
She also heard the slow, steady music start to change and she grinned again. It was one of her faveorite songs. Thinking quickly she glanced down at her feet, although she was touging it out right now a fast song would probably murder her poor feet. Stepping back she reached down and slipped off her heels, holding up a finger towards Jason she ran over to the table they'd been sitting at and deposited the shoes on a chair.
Running back over to him she grinned, "Why Jas, you should know I never miss the opportunity to make a fool of myself dancing!" she told him. Grabbing his hand she spun him around quickly, giggling the entire time. Her and Jason had always been known as the crazy ones that would dance to just about anything, and more often than not end up making people fear for their safety. |

JAson smiled and knew that the song was one of her favorite songs. He looked at her as she held up one of her fingers and he bowed his head. He couldn't help but smile as he watched her run to the table to put her shoes away. Then she came running back and laughed at her comment. HE spun around and stopped right in front of her. He danced with her and said. " Of corse you can't pass up the chance. But then again Neither can I what can I say we are just to fun loving fools on the dance floor"
With that he took her hand and spun her around twice and when they both were done spinning he took her waist and pulled her a little closer. But not super close so people got the wrong idea. Though he would personally stand up to anyone that gossiped to much about Roxy before she had a chance to deal with what she needed to do. He was sure he would kick that persons ass without thinking twice. He smiled down at her as people started looking at them again.
As they danced he couldn't help but think to himself. ' I can't believe it took me so long to tell her. When we both felt the same I must be a lucky guy for her to say yes to me.' He smiled and leaned close to her and said so no matter what only she could hear. " Roxy you have made me the happiest guy ever. " He kissed her cheek and did a made up dance move they had made up years ago and it always made him laugh so hard he made his stomach hurt. He looked into Roxy's Dark brown eyes as she spoke.

Roxy had to agree with Jason, they were indeed two peices of work. Especially on the dance floor! People always said they were very entertaining to watch at a party or dance. And right now there definately was alot of people watching them, but probably not for their dancing.
Looking up into Jason eye's she smiled, a big smile that reached all the way up to her eyes. When he leaned in and told her she'd made him the happiest guy ever she felt a few tears well up in her eyes as he kissed her cheek. but before she had a chance to tell him she felt like the lukiest person ever he started doing a dance move they'd made up years and years ago and she doubled up laughing.
Trying to control her laughter she started doing the move with him, and then spun herself around on the spot, letting herself get lost in the music and the moment a bit. But as the song ended she looked around and saw that quite a few people had already left, and more were making their way to the doors. It looked like the dance was starting to wind down.
Looking back at Jason she smiled at him, then stuck her tongue out. "That's for making my feet hurt!" she joked as she moved over to the table to put her shoes back on. She looked behind her shoulder to make sure Jason was comming to, and she glanced around to see if Sirius, James or Remus were anywhere to be found. [/size] |
