He laughed and then said."I really don't really know how they are as I don't really go home.If you understand what I mean. The girls probably know more than me."It was true he hated staying at home. Even thought he wouldn't usually talk to Katherine he hoped that it wasn't the last time he spoke to her.
" You know.I wouldn't usually say this but I hope we can speak again."He thought that she seemed like a nice person to walk and talk with.

"You're bloody lucky your mum doesn't send you howlers for not writing home then," she laughed, half serious but half teasing. Kat's mum was horrible about nagging her to write home at least once a week. There were one or two weeks through the school year that she'd missed and her dad had saved her from the howlers but he couldn't do it all of the time. Nodding in understanding, she added, "I can understand what you mean though. It's easier to keep up with stuff when you're there and not so much when you're not...especially if you don't have to write home."
The next thing he said had her a little shocked but smiling even more brightly than she'd done pretty much all day. They hadn't even made it out to the pitch and here he was suggesting that they talk again sometime. "If you don't plan to hex me, I think that can be arranged," she joked with a wink, "Seriously, I'd really like that Scorpius. I mean, I'd hate to ruin your reputation or anything though. Half the school thinks you're a ruthless, plotting jerk who would murder them if they looked at you wrong, mate. Can't go running about messing that up, can we?" Again, she had the urge to nudge him playfully...which she did.

"I am lucky. I don't like my mum and she knows it so she doesn't send me anything because she knows that I won't send anything back."He laughed at what he said but it was true."Yeah I suppose that is true but looks can be deceiving.Everyone looks at that I'm a ruthless, plotting jerk who would murder them if they looked at me wrong but am I?"
He like this talk as it wasn't boring, like when he spoke to his friends it was always about the same old thing. With a smile he said " You are not half bad."He nudged her back."So are we going to play the game of nudging each other?"

Sometimes Katherine wished her mum wouldn't send so many letters and expect to get one back at least once every week but she couldn't ever see seriously disliking her mother. Lavender Finnigan was a little 'over the top' sometimes and she expected more from her daughter than she really should have but Kat loved her mum all the same and wouldn't trade a single member of her family for all the tea in China. That was just how things worked really. That being established, Katherine could also understand why Scorpius might not like his parents quite so much. She'd heard a fair few things about the older Malfoys. Still, though, she didn't like to prejudge people. It wasn't right or fair at all.
"Yeh, looks can certainly be deceiving. You're really not a ruthless prat," Kat answered, giving him a very friendly smile, "I don't doubt your capable of being one but you seem more like a harmless teddy bear or something." Of course she was joking...again, but, as far as she was concerned, Scorpius Malfoy really did seem like a pretty nice guy. She wouldn't so much consider him entirely harmless but he didn't seem like the sort that would run about hexing people for fun.
Not half bad. The words seemed to echo in her head and make Kat grin a little more. It didn't hurt that he nudged her back as well. She was finding him thoroughly entertaining and Kat had to admit that she was really glad that she'd taken a chance. Nudging him again, she replied, "Sure...if that's what you want to do Mister tall, blonde and Slytherin." Again, she grinned in a teasing sort of manner and nudged him just for fun.

When he was younger his friends used to call him that apart from the Slytherin but as he had been to Hogwarts. It was his all time dream that he would be in slytherin, it wasn't anymore. He would mind being in a different house as the people in them house were nice.Like Katherine. "Right from now on that's the name that you can call me Mister tall, blond, fit and slytherin.I thought i should add that fit part as I am."He laughed and then nudged her back.
He never laughed as much as he laughed with Katherine. Everyone called him cold hearted as he never cried and they said that he didn't have a sense of humor as he never laughed with them. They just weren't funny but Katherine has. That's what he thought anyway.

Kat nearly burst into a fit of giggles when he agreed to her calling him that but she bit back the laughter just barely. It was highly amusing...especially with the little bit he decided to add. Feeling much more confident, Katherine poked him in the side with her index finger and replied, "Fit, eh? I suppose your in okay shape Mister tall, blond and Slytherin." At that point, she was having a hard time not laughing a little. As strange as it might have seemed, Katherine Finnigan, a Hufflepuff, was actually having a good time with Scorpius Malfoy.
"Come on then. If you're so brilliantly fit, how about we go for a fly, yeh? See if you can keep up," suggested Katherine, nudging him yet again. At this point, she could sincerely see spending more time with Scorpius and, suddenly, all that discussion with Lucinda made a little bit of sense now. As she waited for his response, Kat mounted her broom and kept a watchful eye on him. All the while, she couldn't help grinning.

He felt a bit insulted as he was a fit guy, he looked it and was in good shape. He watched her mount her broom and so he mounted his."Yeh you might not believe me but I am in good health and condition."He lifted up his top and show his six pact."Look. That is what you call muscle and being fit."He started to fly and said"You think that I can keep up with you.No you can't keep up with me."With that last word he was off.

Yes, it was true that Katherine Finnigan was a complete and total 'tomboy' when it came to most things. She loved sport, some pranking and hanging out with guys. She was such a tomboy that she absolutely despised dresses and dances. When Scorpius Malfoy lifted his shirt to show her just how fit he was, though, she couldn't help admiring his abs for a moment or two. Kat had to tear her eyes away from his obviously fit figure and look down at her broom for a moment before she could actually come up with anything to say.
"Okay...fine...you're in pretty decent shape Malfoy," she said with a half grin as she kicked off hard from the ground, "And just so you know, I'm -" She was cut off as she watched him race off. Muttering softly to herself, Katherine took off after him. He was pretty fast but Kat was sure that she could easily keep up with him considering she was the Hufflepuff Quidditch captain. Yes, he might have been the Slytherin Captain and a fellow chaser...but that didn't mean she wasn't just as fast as he was.

Scorpius was half way in the air when he had realized that Katherine was still talking.Oh well. It was like he could rewind what he had did.He thought about having a race with Katherine the Hufflepuff Captain and fellow chaser. He thought that, that would be something that everyone would want to watch.
He looked at Katherine and in the simplest voice he asked"How about a race? A simply 5 laps around the pitch.I guarantee that everyone will watch to see me and you have a race.Don't you think?"He smiled and then said in a cocky tone."Of course I will win"He had a feeling that the tomboy inside of Katherine was waiting to get out.

Racing to catch up to him, Katherine until she was directly beside him. Oddly enough, she'd expected him to try going faster just to prove a point but, instead, he looked over at her hand asked about a race. Kat was as competitive as they came but she wasn't exactly a show off. Yes, she enjoyed the sounds of people cheering and booing during a match but she didn't know how she felt about an audience for some silly little race between her and the Slytherin captain. It was fine to have a good competition but she didn't want things to automatically turn awkward or wind up with a bunch of Slytherins acting like jerks and dragging Scorpius away to sulk...or, heaven forbid, gloat.
"What is with everyone wanting to race me lately?! Do all you blokes really think you need to try beating me in a race just to help your egos?" she teased, shaking her head in an amused manner, "Is my reputation THAT well known?" Was Katherine arrogant? Absolutely not! Was she trying to cover up what was really on her mind? Of course. She didn't want their conversation and time spent around each other to end so abruptly as it would if there was an audience.
