Gabriel had been upset about his falling out with Evie but he knew there was no reason for it. Gabriel had been on a couple of dates since then but none of them were actually worth going on and most of them he just walked out on. Gabriel had decided to spend this day sitting down and thinking about how his life sucked right.
Gabriel took out his favorite book and started to read soon getting lost in the contents of its pages.

Evelyn stormed out the forest. "The nerve of him!" She muttered angrily to herself. She took a deep breathe and cleared her mind. "Whatever." She said shrugging off what had just happened. She then decided to take a walk around the lake.
She sighed as she slowly walked around the lake. She held her head down and had her hands in her pockets. Soon she found herself sitting at the edge thinking about the stupid guy she'd just been on a walk with. Then her thoughts drifted towards Gabriel and their little "fight". She sighed again and skipped a rock at the lake. |

"Hello Evie." Gabriel said not bothering to look up from his book. He didn't really care she was there or at least he tried not to. He was still upset about their fight and wasn't in the mood to be forgiving or tolerant towards her. Gabriel eased his bookmark into the book and slammed it shut before placing it on the ground next to him. Gabriel brushed off his robes and leaned against the tree behind him.
"So who have you gotten into a fight with this time? That remus guy you like so much or was it James? I never can remember, I always get you complaining when ever I try to remember something about our last fight or our nice chat before that." Gabriel said, his tone was that of a jerk which he had purposely done. He didn't mean it but he wasn't going to let her know that.

Unconsciously, Evie's eyebrow raised slightly. She looked over her shoulder at Gabriel. She shook her head and then laughed slightly. "Lestrange." She said simply to his unwanted hello.
She heard him as he talked but she kept her back towards him and turned her face back to the lake. She picked up another rock and skipped in gently. He finished somewhat insulting her and she continued to skip the rocks silently. Soon, she found herself just throwing them into the lake, putting all her rising anger into each throw. "Why do you care who I fought with today? You didn't care about anything before. Why start now?" She asked coldly, her back still towards him. |

"Actually I don't care who you fight I just fear for that person's sanity. I mean after arguing with a self pitting banshee you tend to lose your mind or snap. It's always the cute ones that you have to watch out for." Gabriel said with a snicker. He was only putting on a show but oddly enough he was enjoying it. "So did you ever find mister right? They guy that deserves the depressed Gryffindor who is down on her luck." Gabriel said in a cruel tone.

Evelyn listened as he spoke. She laughed a little. "I have to give it to you. You actually sound like your mother's child now." She turned towards him, looked at him and laughed again. "I'd rather be a depressed Gryffindor than a emotionally confused Slytherin. At least I have a backbone." She said happily.
She stared at him for a moment then shook her head. "You know.... It's funny that you're acting so... well... pathetic right now. You sure didn't act this way before..." She shrugged then bent down and picked a flower. "Hey! You wanna hear something funny though?" She asked, picking the petals off the flower. |

"You can say I decided to just stop arguing with her, might as well become what your destined to become. You can't run away from fate, something I learned from out fight last time we talked." Gabriel said no emotion in his voice. "I'm not emotionally confused because I've made my decision in life unlike you. I've decided to embrace what I am and not run away from it like you have." Gabriel said bitterly.
"Well that's because I actually cared about your opinion, right now I'm just making this as uncomfortable as you made that night for me." Gabriel said. "Sure." Gabriel whispered.

Evie looked up from her flower. "There are two things wrong with what you just said. I never ran away from who or what I am. That's the first thing wrong. And I dont remember making you uncomfortable that night... or any other time we were together. That's the second thing wrong." She threw the flower down and crossed her arms. "From what I remember, you were the one that kissed me first.... and I dont remember asking you to kiss me and make me choose between you and Remus." She said, stepping closer to him. "I chose you. But you... You just...." She sighed. "You just had to be a jerk!" She yelled.
She calmed herself down then backed away from him. "But you can go ahead and continue to be a jerk if you'd like. Oh... and the funny thing is.... That I actually thought you were better than Remus. I thought you had a heart." She laughed coldly. "I must of been wrong..." |

"You ran away from me the guy you cared and cared about you. That is the reason I said you ran away from yourself and you made me uncomfortable because I tried to help you and it didn't work. Like I told you before I'm not good at lifting people's spirits seeing as how I come from the most depressing place in the world." Gabriel said as calmly as he could. "I'm only being a jerk because I don't want you to know that I still have feelings for you. I tried to get over you but sadly it doesn't go away, I've dated plenty of girls but I can only think about how they don't amount to the ground you walk on." Gabriel said angrily.
"Oh I have a heart why else do you think I care about who you chose? Why do you think I've been hurting ever since our fight? It isn't like you care any way so why am I wasting my time telling you." Gabriel said angrily.

Evie frowned. "I didnt run away. You gave up on me." She said. "You arent the only one hurting Gabriel. You said some hurtful things to me... You dont know how much energy it takes for me to ignore you... To act like I dont see you... To try to hate you." She said. She shook her head and looked down. "If I didnt care... "I only gave up on you because you gave up on yourself. You can help those who don't want to be helped or those who won't help themselves." Gabriel said with a frown. "I know I did but only because I felt insulted by the fact you thought you didn't deserve me. I just couldn't deal with you telling me that it wouldn't work and I'm sorry about what I said. I know how hard it is to fake hating someone you don't hate. I've been trying to hate you but it doesn't work." Gabriel admitted.

Evie pulled at her hair and stayed silent for a while thinking of what he said and of what to say back. "Well..." She said, still thinking of what to say. "I... Im self-conscious. Okay? I know that... And it's one of the things I battle with alot.... That's why I think that... Seriously. Go ask any guy... Or any one of my family members. They'll tell you... if you dont believe me...." She said softly. "Im sorry Gabriel... I guess I owe you that..." |

"I'm sorry, I never knew you were. You never told me you had that problem, if you had then I would have been more understanding." Gabriel said sadly. Gabriel got up and walked over to her. "No you shouldn't be sorry, I started the fight. I was the one who said all of those insults. it was all my fault. You didn't do anything wrong." Gabriel said with a smile.

"And I was an asshole to you so I guess we're even." Gabriel said laughing. "We can always start over. In fact that's all I really want to do because I don't want the one good thing to happen in my life be gone." Gabriel said with a sigh. "I like you more then enough to take you for your flaws and your perfections. That's what makes you you and why I like you. I don't just like a part of you, I like all of you. And besides I might be able to help on dealing with that self-conscious." Gabriel explained.
