Lucinda walked into the Forbidden Forest. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was not sunny but not cloudy either. She was wearing and pair of jeans, a black t-shirt that was tight fitted and came just to her belly button, on her feet she wore a pair of green and black striped socks and converse sneakers. She walked around the forst area where it wasn't overgrown with under brush or trees. Birds were flying around and singing . She smiled and watched them as she continued walking around.

Crisp, brown leaves crunched beneath a pair of black shoes. The afternoon was warm enough but a figure, clad all in black, was covered by a thick black cloak as it strode through the forbidden forest. Students were banned from wandering around in the forest, especially at night, but that didn't seem to keep them out. Even the dark figure knew of the strict rules that prohibited students from entering the forest unless they cared to meet a sticky end by some dangerous magical creature or another. Some of said creatures were practically immune to magical spells.
Long, slender pale fingers were wrapped tightly around the solid Almond wand. Blair Snape scowled as he stepped between a set of trees and found himself in a clearing. His stormy, dark eyes took in every detail of the setting but he was oblivious to the presence of anyone else. That was, until his observant ears heard the distinct sound of soft, almost feminine, footsteps accompanied by the fluttering and cooing of birds. Someone else was in the forest. Someone...or something. Was Blair usually this paranoid? Only when lurking around where he shouldn't have been. This was one of those times. [/size]

Lucinda stepped into view. Her blonde hair was hanging around her shoulders. She sat on a fallen tree and looked around. She whistled quietly a crunching noise was heard as a threstral stepped into view. She smiled and stroked the beasts head. She looked around and saw between two trees a boy from the school. She didn't know what house he was from or if he could be trust or not. She never had many friends, she tried to trust but most she did at fisrt glance usually turned on her except for the two close friends she had.

A very blonde girl stepped out about 20 or 30 metres from where Blair was standing but into the direct pathway the Snape boy intended to take. His eyes lingered a moment on her figure, the girl's attire and the way her hair hung. Perhaps these little details would give him a clue as to whom she was. If he couldn't determine who the young lady was, he was at least intent on figuring out what she was doing in the forbidden forest. She couldn't be much younger or older than he, so she, of course, would know the rules regarding such a dark and dreaded place. Based just off of that detail, he came to the conclusion that she couldn't possibly be a Hufflepuff and it was highly unlike she was in Ravenclaw house as well. This left Gryffindor, like himself, or Slytherin.
Snape was exceedingly untrusting and wary of people whom he didn't know...and this girl was certainly no exception. Whether she was friendly or not, he didn't intend to let curiosity get in the way. He may have, at times, blurred the lines between bravery and stupidity but that was only when he had a valid enough reason. Curiosity certainly was not one of those reasons. Instead of taking the shortest and most direct pathway, as he'd originally planned, Blair slunk around a set of trees toward the left. Whether she'd seen him or not, he hadn't quite determined and he wasn't keen on finding it out either.

Lucinda drew her wand just incase he wasn't friendly. She stood quietly and walked quietly in the direction the boy had dissappeared in. She let her eyes scan ahead of her for the sight of movement. She seen him ahead and said, "Who are you? Why are you in the forest?" She didn't raise her wand but kept it down by her side incase she needed it. She watched him closely with her blue eyes for any sign that he may go for his wand.

His hands burried in the long, baggy sleeves of his cloak, Blair continued to clutch his Almond wand in the pale, slender fingers of his right hand. He was, in no way, going to let anyone or anything catch him off guard. Though Snape wasn't slow when it came to drawing his wand nor dueling, he also wasn't about to let one or two seconds get in the way between his life or death. He wasn't that stupid. Blair also wasn't so stupid that he'd forget the blonde who he'd seen only seconds ago. No. He certainly hadn't forgotten about her. Checking over his shoulder, to make sure she hadn't been trying to sneak up on him, Blair gave a short nod of approval at the completely vacant path behind him.
Just as his head turned back toward the direction he was headed, his acute hearing picked up the sound of something snap just behind him. Without a second of hesitation, Blair's entire body turned to face the noise only for him to come face to face with the girl. She was a fair distance off and he notied her hand gripping the wand at her side. Dark, hazey eyes inspected ever centimetre of the girl for even the tiniest hint of hesiation. He wasn't going to indulge someone whom he didn't know with answers to questions she clearly had no right to be asking. The same smooth, frigid sort of voice as one Severus Snape, slid through Blair's thin lips as he nonchalantly said, "I could be asking the same of you."

"You tell me I'll tell you." Lucinda said lookinh at him unblingingly. Her blue eyes shown no emotion. They never did when she was ask a question to an unknown person. She crossed her arms and kept her wand in her hand. The dark wood of the mohogany 10 inch wand with the core of a gryffin tail hair that was supple was visible within her crossed arms. She tucked a strand of blonde hair behind her ears as she waited for his answer.

"Or we each keep our business just that...our own business," Snape suggested coolly. The more he looked at the girl, the more familiar her face was. Now that they were standing fairly closer than they had been before, he could easily make out her facial attributes very clearly. He hadn't recalled ever seeing her among Gryffindor house so that left Slytherin. She, of course, did seem the sort from what he could tell. Just what sort, he wasn't about to assume but she certainly was no Hufflepuff, that much was certain from the start.
As she raised her arms, with wand still in hand, Snape's right hand twitched and his fingers tightened even more around the hard Almond wand he'd acquired before starting at Hogwarts. Then, it had been rather long for such a small boy but now, the 13 inch wand seemed to fit him perfectly. Even the core, one composed of six thin Pogrebin hairs entwined tightly, seemed to match the personality and complexity of Blair Snape. Oh the damage he could do with such a willing wand but he wouldn't abuse its powers. Never, would he abuse the power and potential of his wand nor compromise himself in any way...unless it meant protecting what was rightfully his.

A Malfoy. That was all Blair needed to know. Sure, his father had made friendly with one Lucius Malfoy. And, even more, his father had protected one Draco Malfoy on numerous occasions...or so Blair had been told. The Malfoys were people with whom his mother had suggested he ally himself. Blair, on the other hand, felt that he needed no allies. The only people whom he actually trusted were his little Lil and Ellis. Even so, this girl, this Malfoy girl, had put herself out there. Though she said she was untrusting, he could tell that she was eager to make friendly with others. That was just the way her personality came off. It made no sense at all but he wasn't going to bother himself with dwelling upon it.
"Snape. Blair Snape. Sixth year Gryffindor," he responded carelessly. Though she'd put herself out there, he wasn't about to do the same just yet. People were always up to something and could rarely be trusted. For all Blair knew, this little act could have been her way to catch him off guard. Father always warned him to be wary of others. Though there wasn't anyone specifically that he had to be concerned with, Blair was raised to be cautious, smart and very untrusting. That was just who he was. Nothing would change that. On the flip side of things, however, he was far more complex than just what others saw. It took getting VERY close to him for someone to be allowed in to see the deeper bits of his personality.

"Nice to meet you, Blair." Lucinda said with a small smile and nod. "So why are you out in the forest? I didn't think many would come out here. I mean lots of dangerous magical creatures do wander here. Day or night. But still not so dangerous do wonder here. Like the Threstrals. Only those who have seen death can see them. Some say they are unlucky but their just a normal creature." She took a strip of stake from a plastic bag and tossed it towards a threstral which began eating it.

Silently, the Snape boy watched and listened to Miss Malfoy as she went on about the dangers of what lurked within the forbidden forest. If it wasn't obvious enough, just based off the stereotype of his house, Blair felt there was no need to comment just how little he cared about the supposedly dangerous and vicious creatures that wandered through these very trees by both day and night. He, in his own right, could be quite vindictive. Oh, if only others knew what venomous monster resided deep within his very soul.
Careful observation made it very clear that the Malfoy girl had her reasons for being in the forest. Natural assumption paired with physical evidence made her intentions very clear. Blair also noted her fervor for spouting off bits and pieces of information. Any third year student would know, very well, the traits, myths and history regarding Thestrals. No, that wasn't what had Snape intrigued at all. Casually, and in his usually careful tone, he observed, "I take it you've seen the wonders of death, Miss Malfoy."

"Yes. In my visions. Many see death in reality and then again many see it in premonitions." Lucinda said with a nod as she held a large stake out which was ripped from her hand by a large threstral. She smiled and pulleda rather large bag from her pocket that was shrunken down. Sht dumpped the cotents on a rock and many rustles were heard as threstrals came to investigate the stentch of blood. She smiled as the large heard ate.

"Premonitions," repeated the Gryffindor boy emotionlessly. Blair Snape was one of the biggest cynics when it came to things like visions and premonitions. He believed that anyone was capable of being a seer if they could do one of two things well. If one was so brilliant of a liar that they even believed themselves, they were perfect seer material. The other means took much more work. If someone was a very careful observer with a photographic memory and a knack for psychology, telling the future was easy enough.
Still watching each and every single one of her graceful gestures and movements, Blair stood stone still. He was one of those afore mentioned careful observers. Though he'd never played witness to death first hand, Blair could, at the very least, sense the massive creatures. Their scent, the soft sounds they made with each movement and the imprints left in the ground gave them away. It didn't take a genius to know they were there. Most people, however, wouldn't even notice these small details.

"Actual profecies can only be done by a true seer but anyone can have dreams, premonitions, and those sorts of things. It all depends if you can remember things you dream or see and then see them happen again later in life." Lucinda said, "Its all about the control you have in beliefs." She sighed and twisted her hair in a bun and stuck her want through it to hold it in place. Something she did often.
