Lucinda was walking across the courtyard. It a Sunday afternoon and she was wearing a pair of tight fitted hip huggers, a red and black striped spaghetti strap top, a black hoodie, and a pair of converse sneakers. Her blonde hair was curly and hanging down her back, the pink strip in it bright as ever. She sighed as she continued to walk and the wind picked up a little causing her hair to whip around. No one was in sight. She was alone, which wasn't a shock to her at all. She looked around and seen someone across the grounds. She dod not know yet who it was.

Sunday afternoons were James's favorite. After 5 days of hard, tiring homework and school work, and the Saturdays he spent pranking and hanging out with his friends, Sundays were the day to relax. Now, don't get him wrong. He still enjoyed a good prank here and there on a Sunday. But most of the time finding the people to prank was tough because everyone decided to lay around their common rooms all day. He called the Sundays where he could spot a poor soul that could be pranked, "Lucky Sundays".
Today was one of those days. The wind was blowing lightly which made the leaves of the trees rustle and make a wonderful noise. The sun was shining brightly, but with the cover of the trees it felt cool. James was making his way over to the courtyard to sit on one of the benches and laze around when he spotted her: Lucinda Malfoy.
The grin on his face looked like that of the Cheshire Cat, from the muggle book Alice in Wonderland; the one his mother read to his younger sister for her to go to sleep. James was about to go and hide behind a tree so he could get a good shot at her, but she looked at him and he froze in place. He was almost positive that she didn't see him so he continued walking towards the tree.
The shot he could get from behind the tree was perfect; it was like it had been placed there just for him. Pulling his wand out of his pocket, he looked to see where Lucinda was now. She hadn't moved much, maybe a foot or two and he could still curse her. After a few seconds of contemplating which spell to use, he made up his mind: The Tripping Jinx. Holding up his wand slowly, he muttered the jinx and pointed his wand at Lucinda.

Lucinda sighed as she continued to walk. All of a sudden she tripped over an imaginary wire. she screamed as she fell, she sat up and screeched, "POTTER, I AM SO GOING TO HURT YOU FOR THIS!" She whipped around and saw him and drew her wand and muttered, "Patrificus Totalis." She began walking towards him. She had dirt on her face from the fall and said, "You are so going to pay for that!"

James had been sitting in the same spot where he had shot the curse from, laughing so hard he almost fell over. And then he heard it: the high, pierce scream of the Malfoy girl. Now, he was still laughing, but he knew there was going to be some sort of retaliation so he scrambled up and leaned against the tree.
As soon as he had stood up, he saw the girl raise her wand and shoot a curse at him. "Protego!" he yelled with his own wand raised. The spell was reflected off the shield and James was safe. The grin appeared on his face again as he saw the girl walk towards him. "Tsk, tsk, Malfoy. You should know better than that. trying to curse a Potter with the body-bind curse..." he said, shaking his head, "You had to have known that wouldn't work." He kept his grip on his wand, knowing that there could be more curses thrown at him.

"Why don't you find someone worthy to curse instead of me? Just because I am a Malfoy. your so fucking predjudice Potter. I never even bothered you. You started all this! Not me! Who through the first remark?! YOU! Who through the first spell!? YOU? I was only a first year when you were in 3rd year and you started hating me the moment you heard Mcgonagall call the name Lucinda Malfoy! What would you have done if I made the opposite choice of what I did and went into Gryffindor?! Huh? would you still curse me at every moment? Or would you think total opposite and beleive me when I said I wasn't a Malfoy, Ya I am by blood and Name but I am so close from disowning my family before they disown me. My little sister Rosalynn is the same as me. The Malfoy you need to be cursing is my brother Scorpius! He's the idiotic ass of a Malfoy. Not me!"

To say the truth, James was completely shocked when Lucinda burt out yelling at him. Frankly, he had been expecting another curse to be thrown at him or to be hit in the face like last time. But no, the Malfoy girl had to yell at him. If there was anything that James knew about angry women, is that it was very bad when they yelled.
The girl kept going on about how she was different than her parents and brother and that he was prejudiced. 'I don't think I'm prejudiced...', James thought as he partially listened to the girl. Lucinda was a Malfoy: just the type of person that needed to be pranked or cursed every once and a while. After hearing all the stories from his father about the Malfoy family, James knew that he was going to do pretty much every thing in his power to make hers, and the rest of the Malfoy siblings lives miserable. Nothing the girl said or would say would change his views of her.
Once the girl was done, James just stared at her, trying to act like he had just taken in more than a word of her speech. Finally after she was silent for a moment of two, he asked in a cocky tone, "You done?"

Lucinda narrowed her eyes. She screeched and said, "Why does my life have to be such a complicated mess? And James I know what is running through that Pea size brain off your's I's basically written over your head in neon lights. No I am no skilled legimency or oculemency I am not going to tell you how I know because you wouldn't believe me if I told you." After a moment she crossed her arms and said, "I'm just wasting my precious breath aren't I?" She then crossed her arms.

James finally sighed loudly and gave his signature grin. "You are done! Yes!" He made a punching gesture in the air. "And yes, luv. You are wasting your not-so-precious breath." He gave a slight chuckle and then looked at the girl. He had made sure to say "luv" to her, knowing that she would get pissed. But hey, that's what he called all girls.
A minute passed as he stood there with his arms crossed like her's, and his eyes locked with her's. Finally, he took a deep breath and said, "Why don't you get it? I thought I had made this clear over the years: I AM NEVER GOING TO LIKE YOU." The words he said were loud and he made sure to pronounce every syllable. He moved closer to the tree and leaned against it, a smirk appearing on his face. "Okay, so maybe it's nothing quite personal, against you, luv. But your family has a bad rep in my house and for that, you're just destined to be pranked, cursed, and whatever else I think of."

"Ya you follow what people say you don't know the truth. And if you call me Luv one more time I will slap you so hard you won't be able to tell your ass from your elbow. The only one allowed to call me anything of the sort is my boyfriend." Lucinda said, "And lets get one thing straight call me Luci or Lucinda. I hate Malfoy. It relates me to everything I'm not." Lucinda said why don't you use what brain you have and think about everything I've said, "Maybe we could at least try to be civil. I try to be with you but you always bring out the worst in me."

"Quite frankly, Malfoy, I don't care if you want me to call you something else. It's fun to annoy you." James said with a smirk. The wind blew and made James's hair blow into his, making James push it back slightly.
"When are you gonna give it up?" he asked. "It's practically my nature to prank you! I'm not going to even try to be civil with you cause I know that I couldn't keep it up. Plus, when you retaliate it makes me want to do it more. Keeps it fun." He laughed a low, deep laugh that matched his voice completely. "Luv, just might as well make your peace with it."
This was all completely true. In James's mind, there was something that would just keep him from being civil to this girl and her family. He would just never like her.

Lucinda narrowed her eyes and said, "Really Odd. I can actually have a Hufflepuff and other Gryffindor as a friend and they listen but your just to stubborn. I actually think you don't want to admit the fact that I amnot a true Malfoy." Lucinda then sent her fist flying at his face. Maybe a few hits would knock some sense into him. He really needed to open his eyes and see through the fog that clouded his vision.

"That doesn't make any sense! I know you are a true Malfoy because of the way you act." James said, using his hands to talk, which was something he did often. "So stop trying to tell me that and GIVE IT UP!" This last part he said was said loudly, as if he was trying to say it so loud that she would actually understand it.
He was just about to adjust himself on the tree when he saw Lucinda's all-too-familiar fist coming at his face. Quickly he moved to the side so her hand would hit the tree instead of it's intended target. "Ah, ah, ah, luv. No more hitting. I've grown quite tired of your violence." he said with a smirk.
"Now, I think you may be understanding me here...or at least a little. So I think I'm going to go back to up the castle if we're done here?" He was tired of repeating himself and was tired of hearing Lucinda repeat herself.

Lucinda's fist hit the tree and she glared at him and said, "Stubborn as hell you Potter's are. You jump to conclusion, follow what dear parents tell you. I bet if they told you to jump off a cliff you would do it. If they told you to avada kedavra the rest of your family you would do it. Your no more than a goody to shoes mama's boy." Lucinda said, "I know you want to hit me, come on hit me. You know you want to."

From the words that Lucinda was talking, all he could really hear was a buzzing sound. He was blocking out everything she said because he said he didn't want to hear about it anymore. This girl just wouldn't learn that he was never going to be civil to her. She finally insulted him (something he knew was going to happen) and then sais something he didn't expect.
"I know you want to hit me, come on hit me. You know you want to." "What gives you the impression that I want to hit you? Cursing you is so much better." he said with a smirk. "Plus, I don't hit girls. I thought I already told you that?" It seemed like James had been having really bad deja vu this whole conversation. Everything that Lucinda said was a repeat of before. Didn't she get it that if he said no to the first time she asked him to be civil that the second or third time it would be the same answer? James had had enough.
"I'm leaving now Lucinda. You can feel free to curse me. You know i'll just block it." And with that, he started making his way back up to the castle.

"What ever. Better watch out though I see a strange auror in your future. Bye now." She smiled a bit and walked away towards the forbidden forest, she hummed a song as she went. She reached the end of the courtyard and exited and began running off towards the forest. Forest was perhaps her favorite spot. It was quiet, peacful, and no one hardly went out there. She smiled as she reached the tree line and followed a path she had cut out.
