Victoire had decided it was just about time for a shopping trip. Always the fool for clothes, she had scraped up all the money she could possibly find without going broke, and headed over to the closest shopping mall. She always loved wearing muggle clothes, even though she always needed a few dress robes for family gatherings, because grandmum Weasley always said she looked pretty in her dress robes, she couldn’t resist going to a muggle mall. She was certainly a family girl, and she couldn't wait till their next get together. In the back of her mind she knew that she'd soon need a dress for something much bigger than her family get togethers, but she wouldn't let herself admit it just yet.
She leafed through the clothes, her eyes not yet finding the thing she had been yearning for. She wanted something that would make Teddy’s eyes pop, not like they didn’t already. Her blue eyes glassed over as she thought of one time that her and Teddy had just fallen asleep together in his dormitory, all the boys in his dorm had been jealous because Victoire was very known in Hogwarts for her good looks. Her mother sometimes told her that when she was in school, everyone stared so much they’d spill the contents of their mouth, or bang into something because they weren’t watching where they were going. Victoire didn’t think she was THAT gorgeous but Teddy always told her otherwise.
Her heart began beating faster just at the thought of him, and the more she did, the more she loved him. She didn’t realize she had been staring straight ahead at the cutest little pink dress she’d ever seen, blinking it finally came into her radar. Her mouth widened when she saw it... and even more when she saw the price. Well hey, she had to have the best right?

It didn't really seem very fair to Katherine that her mother dearest was viciously forcing making her shop for a new dress and some pretty shoes to go along. Kat didn't like dresses...especially not the ones her mother pointed out. They were all very showy and usually very uncomfortable. If she could get out of going to her mum's office party, she'd do it in a heartbeat. But, as things were, she was completely and horribly trapped. Even her father was stuck going so that meant even a death in the family wouldn't stop mum from dragging the entire family along. That was just how Mrs. Lavendar Finnigan got when she was determined to make a good impression on her co-workers and boss.
A disheartened expression on her face, Katherine carelessly looked through a few items on the far back rack of dresses. There wasn't anything that would fit her the way a good pair of jeans and one of her ruddy old Quidditch jerseys did. Kat's fingers moved over one frumpy dress after another as she sighed softly to herself. It wasn't fair at all! Pink, purple, red...all the dresses and colours looked the same to Katherine: stupid! Thrusting her hands into her pockets, she traipsed over toward the next rack of items.
Perhaps the only good thing about this shopping trip was that her mother had gotten distracted and left Kat to look for clothes on her own. Sure, mum would complain if she got something that didn't fit her approval but that didn't mean that Katherine couldn't at least try to get something that might not be so skimpy or showy. As long as she could find something that would cover her well enough, it didn't matter what bloody colour it was.

Victoire grabbed at the dress feverishly, clutching it to her chest and panting. She probably looked silly, but she was passionate about her shopping habits, a little too passionate as Teddy had once descirbed it.
As soon as she was able to get her breath back to normal, her eyes finally focused on something other than her dress. A girl, in particuler caught her eyes. The girl looked terribly frustrated and it didn't take the fashion genius in Victoire to figure out that she hated shopping for dresses. It took her only a moment to realize that she was no stranger, she had met her before, while she was still in Hogwarts. Feeling sort of old not that she thought about it, Victoire advanced towards the girl, picking a random dress that seemed to suit her well out of the rack. "Hey! Remember me?" Victoire said, tossing her hair to one side. It was a long time ago they had met, and the girl seemed to have changed a lot... her name was coming back to Victoire slowly... Katherine... yes, she had been Head Girl when they had met, she was escorting the students. "I think I have decided to help a fellow Hogwarts student, or Alumni in my case, out. Having trouble?"
Even with her terrible up frontness, Victoire was completely comfortable. With her own wedding coming up, it was hard not to be.

Grumbling quitely to herself, Katherine pulled a plain black dress from the rack. Still, it was the sort of dress that would be horribly uncomfortable. Besides that, it was a size too small; maybe not by her mother's standards but by her own at least. Shoving the dress back into its original place, she once more put her hands into her pockets and looked around in a very bored manner. There was no way, in Merlin's name, she was going to actually be successful in her pursuit of a decent outfit. Unfortunately, that meant she might never be allowed to leave this bloody shop.
Just as she'd moved to the next one, she heard someone very close speak up. Kat's head snapped up and her eyes landed upon a familar face. Though they'd never really formally chatted or been close friends during school, Katherine would remember Victoire Weasley anywhere. It might not have been a big deal for the school's Head Girl but she'd made a big impression on Kat in that one year. Well, if it hadn't been for her getting lost on the second day of school and then assisted by Victoire, it might not have meant nearly as much but she still looked up to the other girl.
"Indeed, I do remember you," she replied with a forced smile, "It's been absolutely ages though." Glancing at the dress in Victoire's hands, she came to the realization that the girl had intended to assist her with the futile search. Forcing a light laugh, she nodded bashfully and said, "More trouble than you could possibly know. My mum's making me shop for a bloody dress for some work thing she's forcing me to go to and, hate to say it but...I'm hopeless with dresses and the like."
