Kat couldn't help laughing and shaking her head. Pushing Evie back, she said, "I'll try not to gloat too much when we beat your team...though, for those comments, I should." She wasn't always the most competitve but Katherine did quite like a good Quidditch match. She loved the sport and everything about it. Quidditch was her guilty little pleasure and probably always would be too.
"Yes, I grasped what you meant. It took a second since, you know, we have football too...and, naturally, I assumed you'd meant ours rather than American gridiron football. Did you know the Aussies have a completely different version of the sport as well. It's bloody amazing. I guess it's sort of like the difference between Quidditch and Quodpot. Actually, I'd like to give Quodpot a go someday...but my dad thinks it's a bit too dangerous." Once Katherine got going about sport, she usually could ramble on for ages. It was all a side effect of being her father's daughter. She didn't mind, of course, but her mum did tend to have a fit when she and her dad would start talking about all sorts of things that Lav didn't understand.

Evie thought for a minute. "Isnt the Aussie's footy called Rugby? If so, I've played. It's bloody awesome Kat! You should totally play sometime." She said, excited. It was weird how she knew so much about sports. She loved sports as much as her father and Jules did... She just wasnt as into watching it as she was to playing it. She liked to throw and catch the pigskin around the yard with Jules and Alexander. Of course, she had to hide this from most people, but Kat always knew that Evie didnt really grow out of her tomboyish ways. She still liked to play sprots, she liked to roughhouse with her little brothers... She sighed. "I'll teach you how to play if you dont know how."

"Oh, no, it's an actual version of football. They call it Aussie Rules. It's brilliant. It's actually better than Rugby...a little more dirty too," Katherine replied enthusiastically. She'd seen it a fair few times and even attended a match with her father once over summer holiday. Of course, it was winter in Australia but she still loved every second of it. Then again, Kat was a total sport fanatic and always eager to keep up with every one imaginable just to impress her father and uncle.
For a moment, she pondered the bit about Evie playing Rugby. It wasn't too surprising to Katherine but she was sure that a lot of Evelyn's other friends would be shocked to hear about how rough sweet little Evie could be. It just reminded Kat of how she'd been told, during her fifth year, that no boy would ever like her if she was constantly babbling on about sport or playing them. Sighing softly, she shook her head a little. If boys didn't like her, she couldn't care any less. She was going to make something of herself doing something that most little boys could only dream of. Of that, she was sure!

Evie's face lit up. "Seriously? You know a game dirtier and better than Rugby." She laughed. "Hm.... and here, I thought Rugby was the best game ever. You've got to teach me the game Kat. Wouldn't trust anybody else to teach me." She said smiling at Katherine. "Have you ever played it? On a scale on one to ten.... Ten being the highest... How would you rate the game? Who did you play it with? Were the players cute?" She asked without taking breathes in between.

"Way dirtier. It's like a mix of gridiron football, rugby and...and I don't even know what else but it's bloody amazing really," Kat admitted with a hugegrin. Talking sport always made her smile and grin like mad. It was a habit really. One of those things that she'd picked up off her dad and uncle. Giggling softly, she tried to keep up with all of Evie's questions so that she could answer them all. It was like her best friend was going on and on without even breathing between each sentence.
Shaking her head, she giggled softly and slowly replied, "I know how to play it but my dad wouldn't let me. I'd say it's about a nine on the scale...nothing compares to Quidditch. That's the only ten, in my opinion, really. Let's see...I wasn't allowed to actually play but I watched a professional match once and was asked to play in a scrimage while I was over there. Daddy refused to let me play it because he didn't want me to get hurt. It'd have been wicked fun if he'd let me though." Giggling a little more, she went on, "Tons...tons of cute players. Oh Merlin! Cute, talented and...just wow!"

Evie clapped her hands excitedly. "Ah.... I cant wait to play! We should introduce the game to the little gat together we have. They're probably be more kids there.... right? They'd play for sure." She laughed. "My dad is getting a bit too slow to catch me. Seamus probably isnt though.... Huh?" She said. She sighed and started pulling at a strand of hair that fell in her face. She sat in silence for a moment, thinking about her father. Then she sighed and stood up[if she wasnt already.....;D]. "Come one Kat.... Lets get out of here and go start with the letters and stuffs."

Katherine was just as excited talking about the sport as Evie was to hear about it. She giggled again in an enthusiastic manner at the idea of actually playing it but she had a good feeling that there was no way in Merlin's name that her father would allow her to take part. Sighing along, she shook her head and replied, "Nah, my dad's still in his prime...but I'd say that he's not exactly as quick as his little girl anymore." Which wasn't completely untrue. She recalled all of the times that he'd let her win games when she was younger but she could clearly tell that he didn't exactly LET her win anymore. She just sort of did now.
Nodding in agreement, Katherine started to walk a little before she stopped and glanced over at Evie with a very curious expression on her face. Thoughtfully, she asked, "Where exactly are we getting started on the letters and all? I mean...where's a good place that we both have access to that's actually quiet enough for us to complete our planning and letter writing?"

"Well... Since they are letters.... and we're using owls to send them... I was kinda thinking the Owlery.... unless you've got another place where we can send them...." She said sarcastically before smiling and laughing. "We can stop at our dormitories and get parchment, quills and ink then head off to the Owlery. And since Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors arent hateful to each other, we can both go into my common room and you can do a little flirting." She said smiling and poking Katherine playfully. She opened the door and peeked out slightly. "No Filch..." She glanced back at Katherine and grinned. "Lets go. Im in the clear!"

Groaning softly at Evie's sarcastic comment, Kat put her right palm to her forehead and closed her eyes. After a moment or two of thinking, she finally lifted her head and opened her eyes to look directly at her best friend. "Quiet, Evie. I said somewhere quiet. The owlery is fairly noisy and we both know the smell is dreadful if you're stuck up there long enough," Katherine stated with a soft sort of sigh before suggesting, "Perhaps we can find somewhere outside that's quiet enough to work on the letters and then, once they're all done, we can just run them up to the owlery?"
If she hadn't groaned enough before, Katherine Finnigan found herself making an even more displeased sound after Evie's next comment. Sure, the Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors were fairly friendly (except when in tight competition, of course) so there would be no problem with slipping into each others common room without issue...but that last bit... Shaking her head, she decided not to say anything at all. Instead, she followed Evie silently and let the subject drop as she headed out into the corridor.
