The weather seemed to be turning again as a few stray clouds drifted across the sky. It had been particularly rainy the last few days but Kat didn't mind much. Her team had still managed to get their practices in and the rain wasn't so bad that it kept people from doing the more important things that needed done. Today, though, was much more clear and warm than usual so she took the opportunity to have a good jog around the castle.
Dressed in her favourite warm-ups and a light green t-shirt, Katherine Finnigan started out the front doors of the school. The castle was massive but that was what she liked most about her jogs around it. It gave her plenty of time to reflect on whatever had happened over the passed few days and, best of all, she got more than enough exercise during her runs. Starting out at a fair enough pace, Kat began to ponder just how serious one of her friends had been the last time they talked. Things were mentioned and it had been weighing on her mind ever since. Sighing softly, Kat picked up her speed and headed around the first corner.
For the next hour or so, Kat did laps around the giant castle. Once she was sure that she'd gotten plenty of work and that her muscles were due for a cool down, she walked toward one of the benches that were conveniently located in the courtyard. Instead of sitting down straight away, Kat stretched out a little and let her heartbeat slow for a moment. Only after everything was how it should be, she sat herself down on the bench and leaned her head back. With eyes closed, she let the sound of her breathing and heart beating lull her into a state of complete relaxation.

Finally, a nice day after all those rainy ones, Merlin it had poured like there was no tomorrow or at least that is what Justin thought who sometimes just couldn’t help himself from exaggerating things especially when he was kept away from one of the things he loved the most: quidditch. Of course he could have practiced in the rain too, like he has heard others do but it was no way in this lifetime that he would wet himself by doing so, he liked to stay nice and dry, letting the mud be enjoyed but whoever pleased to.
So, after breakfast the boy went straight to the pitch. Did a few laps for warm up, scored the hoops a little and practiced some drills until he got tired. He then landed off into the stands to catch some breath, but since it was harder then expected, probably because he had slacked off so much with this rain and all, he decided to call it a quit for the day. He got up and with his broom on his shoulder started walking out of the pitch. He didn’t like to let it in the locker rooms mainly because he was afraid someone will scratch his little beauty, a brand new Starburst broom, the latest model.
As Justin was heading towards the castle when he noticed in the far distance a familiar face jogging. A smirk immediately drew on his face at this pleasant sight, he hasn't annoyed his sister in three whole days and was almost afraid not to lose his touch, although their common rooms were fairly close, but there was no way he will go in the yellow and black one, so... He walked arrogantly from behind while the girl seemed to have stopped and began to stretch in front of a nearby bench.
,,Tired so soon, Kat, I thought you could do more'' Justin said smirking as he was now behind the bench his sister just seated herself on.

Her mind drifting to thoughts of Quidditch, friends and Braden O'Brien, her obvious Quidditch crush, Kat smiled softly to herself. It had been quite a while since the last time she'd written in her journal but there wasn't much to put aside from things she'd already written. Instead, she tended to let her mind mull over each little item countless times. Today just seemed like the perfect day for this sort of reflection. It was warm, sunny and quiet. What more could a person possibly ask for when it came to settings for silent thought?
A very familiar voice broke Katherine from her thoughts but she didn't care enough to open her eyes just yet. Rather, she sat silently for a moment longer before responding, "You KNOW I can do more, Titch. But my team has been practicing all week and today is our off day...so I'm going a bit easy." With her thoughts interrupted and the sincere doubt that Justin would be going away any time too soon, Kat sat up straighter and opened her eyes. Glancing over at her younger brother, she offered a warm, sisterly smile.
"To what do I owe your unpleasant interruption?" she asked in a sweet tone. It was true that he was a right pain and that the two didn't always get along but that didn't stop Kat from being his loving older sister. This, of course, also meant that she wasn't against patronizing him, being sickeningly sweet and making him look silly in front of his friends. What else were big sisters for? Eyeing him, she awaited an answer but didn't expect much else.

,,Aw, the little kitty got wet, tsk tsk, it must have been so ruff for you'' Justin said smirking lowering his head closer to her ear to say the last words. He then straightens himself up and circled the bench to come in front of it so he could take a seat as well. Contrary to what might others think he wasn't ashamed to be seen with his sister as long as she wasn't sickeningly sweet or treating him as a baby and somehow she had this nasty habit of embarrassing him like this, but he wasn't worried since he paid her every time.
The boy put his broom next to him leaning his head on the elbow he put on the back of the bench looking at his sister smirking. It was weird, they were so opposite sometimes but still in the same family, who would have ever expected two Gryffs to produce a puff and a slytherin.
,,Unpleasant, huh? Now I’m hurt and I actually thought you cared for me'' Justin said in a pretended sad tone ,,I was so keen on seeing my sister, I have missed her dearly for the whole three days and she is treating me like this, I’m sure mum would be hurt-broken to hear about it'' the boy said in the same hurt tone but grinning on the inside, he always did that and his mother always took his side much to his pleasure and thus ending up into a scold on Katherine, but since that was the intention he would do it as often as he could after all what are little brothers for then to get their elder siblings into trouble.

Paying no attention to his silly little puns, Katherine wondered just what had provoked Justin to come bother her rather than pick on someone smaller than him. Then again, what was he for but to make her life a living hell sometimes? Scrunching her nose a little, she shook off the idea of going inside to relax in her common room...where little Slytherins weren't allowed. It was too nice a day for her to let Justin ruin it with his childish comments. As such, she casually replied, "Was lovely really."
Scooting over a bit, so that there was plenty of room for both of them as well as a place for him to lean his broom, Kat grinned mostly to herself. Considering their mum was far too prissy for sport and their dad had never played for his house team, it was quite interesting to ponder how both she and Justin had become so fond of the sport and so skilled in it as well. Must be thanks to Grandmum Finnigan then...
Katherine eyed her younger brother suspiciously as he acted as though mortally wounded by her question. The instant that he practically threatened to tattle, she half glared at him. The last thing in the world she needed was another howler from their mother. The last one had been sent a little over a month ago simply because she'd forgotten to write a lengthy letter home. Shuddering at the mere notion of getting another, the Hufflepuff crossed her arms and tried to refrain from saying anything that would provoke him to actually get her into trouble. "Love you too Titch," muttered Kat after a second

Justin wasn't very pleased that she reacted so casually at his comment, he wanted a bigger influence and he got only that, so annoying, what was the point of doing that if she was about to ignore him, but like everybody knew him he wasn't about to give up after his first attempt, nope, better try again.
,,I bet, although seeing you in wet close isn’t as interesting as when it comes to other girls so probably the guys in your team had nothing to stare at what so ever'' the boy said casually leaning now on the back of the bench and gazing up at the blue sky. It really was a pretty day, too pretty to annoy it with disgusting thoughts about your sister in a sexy position, ew, that was gross and whoever thought of her as that must be out of his mind, although people better keep their dirty minds clear of Kat's image or else they will have to answer to him.
,,Something wrong?'' Justin asked when he saw the half glare he just received ,,I thought you enjoyed hearing our mother as loud as you could'' he said snickering at how red Kat went when she received her last howler form their mother, he had no clue what was that all about since he hadn't complained lately, but who cared he just enjoyed the sight and what a pretty sight that was, she was crimson.

Kat rolled her eyes at his next comment and shook her head a little. It wasn't like she entirely disagreed with him but the fact that he mentioned how interesting it would be to look at other girls in wet t-shirts was rather unnecessary. In fact, she could have gone her entire life without hearing him say anything of the sort. The rest of what he said, though, did get her thinking. Not so much about what he'd said but about boys in general. After a moment, she looked over at Justin and noted, "Don't worry, Titch dearest, I had an undershirt on under my long sleeved shirt."
It wasn't unlike him to try getting to her but she didn't plan on letting him annoy her that easily. Kat was in a good mood today, which was a pleasant change from how she'd felt for quite a while, so he'd have to try much harder to get under her skin. After all, she was used to most of his childish comments.
"Oh no, nothing wrong at all," Kat said, at hint of sarcasm in her voice, "As much as I love our mother, I don't fancy making her spend so much time coming up with a well thought out message for her howlers." She didn't even want to think about the looks she'd gotten or the snickering from the Ravenclaw and Slytherin tables each time she got one of those dreadful things. It was interesting to think how many people found it funny when other people got them but couldn't stand the giggles when it was them who was being screamed at by an angry parent letter.

Justin turned his head to look at her for a moment and said smirking ,,I think that's the problem'' a small chuckle erupting from his small throat. Ok, now he was going over board with this and his mind seemed to be even faster then his mouth creating all sorts of images that could have clearly been left unformed ,,but enough with this, I still want to eat lunch you know'' he added with a genuine smile, that was almost caring because even if he liked to hide it, the fact he did care for his sister still shined through sometimes without his conscious permission.
,,Don't worry, sis, I'm sure mum can be very quick in making those, especially when it comes to... you'' Justin said arrogantly, a smirk drawing itself on his thin lips again. He liked the fact he was his mother’s favorite because that meant much more then being dad's favorite mainly because Seamus seemed to do anything Lav asked, just like her own personal slave and thus Kat's favoritism was nothing in comparison with his.
Justin turned his head to watch the sky again since he just loved to lay around like that and let the warm rays of sun caress his face ,,So how's your life lately, dear sister?" the boy asked without turning to watch her completely. He wasn't sure what he was asking since it was rather weird, he had lost track of her life lately mainly because he got himself too wrapt up in quidditch to pay attention to this lost puff.

Katherine frowned a little at what Justin had to say. To hear nearly any boy make that sort of comment after what they'd been discussing wasn't acceptable but her own brother was even worse. Shaking her head a little, she tried to write it off as nothing more than him being a silly little git that only wanted to bug her. After all, that was his job, right? Seconding his statement, she nodded and replied, "Yeh...best to just leave that one alone Justin. Better for both of us really." Reaching over, she ruffled his hair a little before reclining a bit further on the bench. Even though they bickered and did things to annoy each other, Kat had to admit that she wouldn't trade her little brother for anyone else.
Though their parents wouldn't admit it, both Kat and Justin knew he was their mum's favourite child and she was a daddy's girl through and through. That was probably why her little brother constantly threatened to tattle to their mother. Frowning again, she tried to let this subject drop as well. There was no point in pressuring him or begging him not to write home to tell their mum that Kat needed a howler. It would only make things worse if she tried anyway. Instead, she pretended to not hear him at all.
"My life? Since when has my darling ickle Titch been bothered to ask about my life?" she asked half dramatically, letting out a soft laugh. Glancing over at her brother, Katherine honestly added, "It's been a little hectic with exams, Quidditch, Head Girl duties and obnoxious prats like Remus Black and another git who shall remain nameless. How about yours? Keeping fit with Quidditch at least, yeah?"

Justin smiled and nodded at her statement. But his smile soon faded turning into a frown when she ruffled his hair. Why did big sisters always have to do that, just because he was younger it didn't mean he can be treated like that ,,HEY! Don't do that'' the boy said pouting and folding his arms ,,I spent almost....erm... five minutes combing that and now you messed it up'' of course his hair was probably already messed up by the game he has been playing, so basically that wasn't the problem but the fact she did it.
,,Urgh, again with the Titch thing'' Justin said displeased as he actually turned now to face her, his knows wrinkled a little at the hear of this words. The boy got up and was standing in front of Kat, his shadow dropping onto her blocking the sun rays ,,get up!'' he demanded folding his arms ,,I'm going to prove to you I'm not that little or small'' he said in an annoyed tone.
,,Eh, I have nothing else better to do'' Justin said smirking at her little comment as he was still waiting for her to stand ,,oh, that 5th year Gryff, what's he got to do to you, he is younger, a little younger and he could have been your brother'' the boy said slightly surprised, she didn't know she took a fancy into younger people, but then again knowing Kat she was probably referring to the fact he was up to no good and thus her as a head girl had to look out for the maintenance of the rules and so ,,and since when are you keeping secrets from your darling little sweet brother?" Justin asked smirking, almost feeling like chuckling at his comment since he clearly wasn't any of those adjectives he just attached to his name.

Laughing softly at Justin's reaction to her ruffling his hair, Katherine shook her head in a very amused manner. "Five minutes? Come now, we both know you spend ages in the bathroom in the morning when we're at home," teased Kat in a very sisterly tone as she watched him fold his arms, "Besides, it was a mess already so I made it look better by ruffling it up a little." Smiling brightly at him, Katherine realized just how much she'd missed moments like this since the start of term. With being so busy lately, it really was hard to spend any time with her Slytherin little brother. Not that she minded all of the time considering he was a right pain if he really wanted to be...but they were still siblings when all aws said and done.
"Awww!" Kat cooed, watching him stand up, "You'll always be my ickle Titchy-poo...no matter how big you get." Even despite how annoyed and demanding he was trying to act, she remained seated for a moment or two. The more Katherine thought about it, he really had grown up a bit since the days when he was a constant little pest at home. She could remember those days almost like they were yesterday and, yet, here he was already in 4th year.
Katherine scowled when he noted that Remus Black could have been her brother were he a bit younger. As far as Kat was concerned, Black was a no-good, womanizing prat who could jump in the black lake and drown for all she cared. But none of that mattered now anyway. She was done with immature little boys and their pathetic little games. Finally, after a moment or two, she answered, "Me? Keeping secrets?! Oh Justin, my precious and adorable ickle Titchy-poo! Why ever would I keep secrets from you?" Yes, she'd noted how he tried to appear sweet and innocet so she simply insisted upon a little more sisterly patronizing. Even if it was a little annoying, he'd earned it.
