It was Hogsmeade weekend before Remus had had the chance to remember that it was coming. His late mornings didn't seem to change today, because after missing breakfast, and lunch, he found himself hoping Rose didn't think he'd stood her up. It brought him to rushing out of his dorm, his shaggy hair blown all over, making him look probably even better than before. Or that's what the girls' staring said anyway.
It was actually his first Hogsmeade weekend without a girl, per say. It wasn't that he didn't consider Rose a girl, it was just that she was too close to him for him to think about her that way. Alright, alright he was a teenage boy, so he had to admit he'd thought about her that way a few times. She was a pretty girl, it was hard not to. But then again, Rose was one of his very good friends, who knew his girl friend habits very well. Sometimes people told him he was too much like his father, and it was more than a few times that he had heard it. Still, he couldn't help but wonder what had happened to make his father settle down with his mother, if he was really just like Remus.
He finally reached the Three broomsticks when his mind stopped reeling with those thoughts. Pushing open the door with little effort, Remus scanned the place for Rose. Was she late too?Not in this universe.

The fact that Rose was going to meet Remus in The Three Broomsticks didn't actually make her nervous at all. She was used to the guy already, not like some girls she had seen who just flustered around the guy. Rose didn't quite understand it at all. She thought of Remus as a pretty good looking guy but never in a way that would cross the line. Anyway she knew that Remus already had girls surrounding him. She had more fun watching all the girls try to impress him just to find out he'd only pick one and that one wouldn't last very long. Remus was just a good friend to her, unless something real big happened but Rose doubted that. She enjoyed being one of Remus' girl friends who he had never tried to hit on.
Rose sat down at a table that was meant for two-three people. A few students she had seen around the school had asked to sit but Rose shook her head. Unless there was no room in The Three Broomsticks, she would have allowed them to sit but she was waiting for Remus. She sat waiting for him looking at the clock on the wall. She shook her head thinking that Remus was never a boy to be on time so it didn't matter that he was a few minutes late. Maybe a girl had stopped him on the way there and now they were just chatting. But really would Remus stop just for a girl? Rose wasn't sure, she decided in her mind to wait a few more minutes.
Rose had gotten tired of waiting so she stood up trying to get a better view to see if he had come in himself and was sitting at a table. No luck for Rose. She sighed feeling stood up but just when she was going to leave she saw a head of brown shaggy hair. She had seen that head of hair a million times already. The pout on her face grew into a weak smile. She could see him looking around so she waved a hand in the air trying to get his attention.

Remus watched her wave her small hand around, signaling him to step over there. He pushed past the usual Hogsmeade crowd that filled the Three Broomsticks on Hogsmeade days, making his way to her before he could get caught up with anyone else. So used to his usual dates where he had to pretend to be interested in the babblings of girl's who didn't seem to care about anything but their hair and nails, it was very refreshing to be meeting with Rose. As soon as he got to her, he held out his arms to engulf her in a hug. "Rosie!" he said, chuckling at her. He was much taller than she was, even though the girl was a year older than him.
After his short and sweet hug with her, he sat himself down opposite of her, making himself as comfortable as possible as he usually did. Remus brought his hands in back of his head tipping his chair back, unafraid he would fall. "So my little flower, what's been happening with you? Any boys you would like me to whack?" He winked, protective role coming out of him like she was his own sister.
