It was a nice afternoon, and Elizabeth Jane Weasley found herself with some extra time. All her homework was finished, so that was out of the question for something to do. Instead, she headed out of doors into the fresh air. Fresh air never harmed anyone and Lizzie thought she could use a few hours in the sunshine.
After walking about the ground for a bit, Lizzie stumbled up a small patch of wild daisies underneath a large tree. It looked like a nice quaint spot to sit down under and enjoy the fresh air. So, Lizzie sat underneath the shade of the tree. She picked a few daises that were near here and started to make a flower chain. All the while her mind wandered from subject to subject to pass the time.
Lizzie hadn't been enjoying the quiet time for very long. The wind picked up a little - almost as if a storm was coming in. Ah, the weather could be very unpredictable at times. Lizzie wasn't going to go in, at least not until it actually started raining, if it was going to. She continued to make her chain of daisies which was growing to be rather long now. Out of the silence, Lizzie heard the snap of the twig, like someone was approaching her from behind.

Cooper Weasley found some extra time in the afternoon. He wandered around the castle for a bit, chatting with a few people here and there. He found that everyone seemed to have an assignment or something to do so, Coop steered himself out of doors. It was a nice enough day out, although there were suspicious looking clouds in the distance.
With a small sigh, Cooper traveled through the grounds. He pasted a group of girls, he grinned at them as he walked by. They all giggled. Again, the giggling! he though after he had pasted them. It wasn't long before he caught a glimpse of familiar blowing brown hair. Cooper snuck over to the tree from where he saw the hair. He was absolutely soundless until, he stepped on a twig he hadn't noticed. Coop was sure of he was sneaking up on, so he ducked behind the tree.

After hearing a snap, Lizzie turned a looked around her. She didn't see anyone. Little did she know, Cooper was hiding behind the tree she was sitting near. Hm, maybe it was just the tree, she thought. With a shrug, Lizzie went back to making her daisy chain. It was not almost as long as her legs. She wondered what she would do with it, whenever she decided to be finished with it.

Cooper grinned as he went undetected by Lizzie. He stooped down and picked a few daisies, chaining them together. Oh, how he hoped none of his friends would walk by. He figured they'd laugh at him, giving him away. He wanted to surprise Lizzie, but also scare it. It was fun scaring her - it was just too darn easy.
After he had the chain all together, he tied it making up a little sort of crown. With his trademark smirk back on his face, he looked round the tree. Yup, she was still there. Coop thought she was really doing some deep thinking. The flower chain she had going was just about as long as her legs. He shook his head, That's Lizzie. he thought. Cooper snook out from around the tree, he put the daisy crown atop her head and yelled, "Boo!"

Lizzie shot up from she was sitting. Turning around she drew out her wand quickly. Her heart pounded a mile a minutes, scared out of her mind. She should of known it was Cooper. The minuted she saw him, she let out a sigh of relief. It was only him. Since it was Coop, she could yell at him. "Cooper Andrew Weasley! You know not to bloody do that to me!" Lizzie folded her arms as she scolded her older brother. [/size]

Cooper held up his hands, as Lizzie has her wand pointed at him. "I surrender," he said with a wide grin. He had expected Lizzie to be mad with him, he just hadn't expected for her to whip out her wand. Ah, well - at least she didn't shoot a spell at him. Coop couldn't help but laught lightly, "Oh, Beth." Beth, was his special nickname for her.
"You are right little sister," Cooper said, looking down at the ground with a frown. "But," he said, popping his head up with a grin, "it was fun, not to mention the priceless look on your face." He really was only poking fun at her. Coop knew she'd probably return it somewhere down in the line. "Aw, now do you look pretty," he said, changing the subject. "I made the crown just for you."

Lizzie sighed, she could never stay mad at Cooper. Not over something as silly as scaring the living day lights out of her. She smiled at her older brother, and reached up to touch the crown of daisies on her head. She hadn't even noticed it was there until know. She had been too scared at the moment to notice he even put it on her head. "And what makes you think I deserve a crown?" she asked him.
Without waiting for his answer, Lizzie turned around on her heel. She sat back down in the grass, where she was before. She sighed, fidding with the long flower chain she had made. Lizzie was feeling a little down, she really wasn't sure why. Normally, when Cooper was around she was very lively. Today, she didn't like. It could have been because he had scared her.

"Well, because you're my favourtie sister in the whole wide world," Cooper replied, as more of a question than a statement. He noticed Lizzie's sudden change in mood. Coop was slightly puzzled. One thing he didn't understand about girls is their capacity to change moods in a blink of an eye. That was something Cooper couldn't do even if he tried.
Cooper sat down in the grass next to Lizzie. He stretched he legs in from of him, leaning back on his elbows. "Beth, is something wrong?" he asked he cautiously. Sometimes he got in trouble of assuming something was wrong. Still, he knew Lizzie better than anyone else. He knew when something was eating at her, or something of that nature. He looked at her with concern, waiting reply. "It's not a boy is it?' he added.

Lizzie sighed and looked at her brother. "No, it's not a boy. I just haven't been feeling myself lately, I don't know why." She looked down at the grass. Lately, Lizzie had been feeling insecure. That's a first for her. She was always sure of herself. She hated feeling like she did. The reason was unknown to her. At least she had a brother who she could talk to about.
"Maybe it's because the lack of boyish attention," she said, with a hint of humor. Lizzie knew that Cooper was always keeping an eye out for her. Especially when it came to boys. He was the overprotective brother. She knew he couldn't help it, only she liked to use his own flirtacious spirit against him in those sort of instances.

Cooper sat up straight. "Well good, then I don't have to beat him up." That he was serious about. It was one of the only things he was ever serious about, protecting his sisters from boys like him. Over their childhood, Cooper had grown extremely protective of Lizzie. He never wanted to see her sad, especially over a boy.
"Well, he said, leaning against Lizzie's side, "I give you attention." Coop knew what sort of attention Lizzie meant, he just wanted to get around the subject. "You know, the ball going on is girls ask boys. Don't ask anyone, actually just don't go at all." Cooper smirked up at her to let her know he was joking. Of course he wanted her to go and have fun, he just afraid of her having fun certain fun that Cooper has had. The thought made him panic in his mind.

Lizzie chuckled lightly. Cooper could always make her laugh, despite how bad she may be feeling. "Oh, get off. Lizzie said, gently pushing her brother off her. She looked from him and back to the ground. She couldn't really explain to him what was wrong with her. Liz wasn't exactly sure herself either. How can you explain something to someone when you don't know about it completely yourself?
Lizzie sighed at her realization, "I don't plan on asking anyone because I don't plan on going." At this moment, she decided she wasn't going to go. There was no way in the entire world that she'd ever muster up the courage to actually as a boy to ball. Besides, it suppose to be the other way around. Of course, those times she'd always feel bad for not getting asked, so this way it was a little better.
"I don't know how to explain it but, I just feel..." she trailed off. Lizzie tried to such for the right word but couldn't find one. She looked at Cooper and merely shrugged. It was a hard thing to explain, when you weren't sure yourself.

"Alright, alright," Cooper said with a chuckle, "no need to get pushy." He leaned back slightly, supporting himself with his arms propped behind him. Coop kept an eye on his sister to see if he could pick up anything from her being. He got nothing, that was highly unusual.
"Not going? You? Pass up a ball, with dancing?" Cooper said, sounding surprised and confused. "Beth, you love to dance, why don't want to go?" he asked her. From what he remembered, Elizabeth loved to dance. In on of her favourtie books, her favourite character, baring the same name as she minus the Weasley, loved to dance. Ever since their mum taught them to dance, she loved it. Cooper found it odd that Lizzie was going to pass up the oppourtunity to dance.
"You feel......lost? Confused? Strange? Not yourself? Looney?" Cooper question, adding the looney bit just in an attempt to cheer her up. He couldn't really understand what was wrong with her. Maybe it was a girl thing that he couldn't help her with. It killed him that Lizzie was feeling lowly. He wanted to do whatever he could to make her feel better, "Is it because this ball is girls ask boys? You're too shy to ask someone to go with you." Cooper drew this conclusion within several minutes.

"I know I love dances and parties and all that but, I don't feel like going." Lizzie replied, a hint of fustration in her voice. She knew he'd ask her that. Liz didn't have an answer for him. The thought of missing it bothered her but, she just didn't feel like going as she wasn't feeling much like herself.
Beth shot a mean glare at Coop. "Loony? You think I feel loony?" she questioned him. Lizzie kenw that he only inserted it as a joke but, it wasn't funny. Maybe a little but, she wasn't sure what she felt. "I just haven't been feeling myself." she added. "No," she said defensively in reply to the ball question. What Coop said was true. She was way too shy to go up to a boy and ask the simple question. It was simple and yet she couldn't do it. She felt defeated, not being able to do something, which in turn had her feeling blue.
