Jessica Lupin had just sent an owl to her parents, a common ritual she did ever since her first year at Hogwarts. Now sleep was trying to claim her, and a yawn escaped her lips as she walked through the halls and staircases of the school she had been for 3 years. Jess loved it here, being sorted into Ravenclaw gave her an escape from her older brother Sirius. As much as she loved her brother, sometimes he could get too much. As all siblings probably thought of one another. At least Teddy had graduated, she didn't know what she would do if both her older siblings were there.
Again she yawned, pulling on her robes to keep the from moving too much as she headed towards her common room to have a nap. The 13 year old Ravenclaw hadn't been sleeping well, not because of nightmares but because she just couldn't get to sleep and she didn't know why. It was frustrating and annoying at the same time. If she knew why, she could fix it but as it was, she just had to deal with not allot of sleep.

Silently traipsing through the corridors of Hogwarts, clad in dusty black school pants and a faded school robe, the dark-haired boy pondered the events which had most recently passed. There were always things to keep an eager mind busy but more so within the confines of Hogwarts school. Between classes, the students, professors and general goings-on, anyone with half a brain could be kept busy with thoughts. Blair Snape was no exception. Though the coursework and out of class assignments had been simple enough this year, there were plenty of other things which he was left to contemplate as he swept through stairwells and corridors like a shadow; both unnoticed and uncaring. Even the blank expression which lingered in the boy's hazy, mysterious eyes gave the Snape boy a cold and careless aura which was not entirely false.
Nearly everyone had always insisted that the boy had been placed in the wrong house and that he did not belong in a house where students were brave, loyal and chivalrous. The main opposition to this opinion was within Slytherin house. Though the surname was well-known among the darker families and his father had been marked, by history, as a vindictive and selfish man, some believed that Snape was a traitor...that Blair did not belong in a house where only the most pure and cunning were accepted. In short, he did not fit in among the students of Hogwarts. He was an outcast and so he would be until his very last day. Still, this did not weigh on the boy's mind as he wandered aimlessly from one floor to the next.
The soft sound of his shoes echoed off the stone walls of the empty fifth floor corridor. Somewhere near here was the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room and Blair knew it. Perhaps his legs had led him here for some important reason? Two of the most important people in his life would be tucked away within the comfortable warmth of that common room. It made him think even more on the events which had taken place in this very corridor and corridors nearby. Bittersweet. That's how he felt in regards to these things and nothing could ease his mind.

There were times where Jessica had actually fallen asleep in class, which her friends ended up waking her, so she didn't get detentions. The Ravenclaw loved her classes, and hated the fact she missed out on a few lessons because of this sleep. Irritated, and wondering if she should find her brother, Jess ran her fingers through her light colored hair, heading towards the entrance to the common room. Pausing outside, Jess was about to wait for the question until the soft padding of someone walking made her turn around. If it wasn't another Ravenclaw, she couldn't exactly let them know how to enter her house common room. Despite the fact that sleep was needed, Jess wouldn't allow someone else access.
So, ignoring her tired eyes, and the headache that was forming in the back of her mind, Jess made her way back to where she came from, looking left and right for the source of the noise and student. At last her eyes found the student, and a stunned look passed upon her face as she realized who it was. Whats Snape doing around here? Jess thought, wondering what prompted the Gryffindor kid to wander through to where the Ravenclaw common room was located. Unlike other students, Jess didn't care what Snape did, or who his father was. Who your parents were didn't mean you would turn out the same. She had no problem walking past him or even saying a hello. It's what you did in life that should reflect on who you were, not your family.
"Snape." Jess's voice was soft, and it echoed through the empty hall. "Is everything okay?" Sure they were in different houses, and even if Snape was in Slytherin she would still ask that question. A kind soul, she hated being mean unless she had to or the need arose for it. Most times the 3rd year was kind and caring, a generous soul. If it wasn't for her smarts, she probably would have been put in Hufflepuff, like her dead grandfather Ted Tonks. There was a moment where she stayed still like a statue to remember the grandfather she never knew.

Perhaps, if his mind hadn't been abuzz with curiosities and memories, he might have opted for a bit of light reading in some dark, lonely corner of the library but that would not have suited his need for wandering thoughts. No. Pensive wandering was what Blair Snape did best when he needed to sort his own thoughts out. At least there was less chance of being disturbed when one was always moving quietly through the castles shadows than remaining stationary in one's own common room or the library. If the night would have permitted it, he might have even found himself traipsing across the empty, eerily illuminated school grounds under a gloomy, cloud filled sky. Alas, the weather refused to allow him such a pleasure and he was constantly reminded of this each time his eyes passed one of the hazy, rain-streaked windows.
A soft, warm sound violently tore Snape from his contemplations and forced the boy to focus his attention on where the voice had come from. As the feminine voice echoed through the corridor again, Blair spotted the young lady from whom the caring tone came. Though he hadn't fancied himself knowledgeable in every person who attended Hogwarts, some of the young woman's features were unmistakable. She was, quite clearly, the youngest Lupin. Her older brother Sirius was from Blair's own house and, in a way, their scenario reminded him of how his dear Lilith was, much like the youngest Lupin, sorted into Ravenclaw house while he was a Gryffindor. The biggest difference was that Sirius Lupin fit in so well among the other students of Gryffindor house that he was one of the ever popular Marauders group along with Black, Potter and Pettigrew. Just that though stirred up ill feelings in the pit of Blair's stomach.
"Miss Lupin," addressed Blair politely, though his voice, as always, was lacking any sort of sincere emotion. Giving her a miniscule and somewhat forced smile, he assured, "Everything is quite alright, thank you." Even if he didn't fit in among the students of Hogwarts, Snape was quite formal and polite when it came to addressing others...especially those who cared enough to ask after his well-being. Thinking on it another moment or two, the Gryffindor boy allowed his hazy, dark orbs to wander over the Lupin girl's innocently featured face. If she was younger than Sirius, surely she had to be a second or third year. This, of course, sparked a hint of curiosity in the back of Blair's mind. What is she doing out and about at this time? And all alone? Rather than interrogate the girl about what she was doing in the corridors by herself, Snape kindly asked, "And yourself?"
