ROSE WEASLEY
BEHIND THE CHARACTER
NAME :: April
AGE :: 17
EXPERIENCE :: Three months. (Not too long, I know, but I only discovered roleplaying sites three months ago.)
GENERAL
FULL NAME :: Rose "Rosie" Rowena Weasley
AGE :: 17
GENDER :: Female
YEAR/OCCUPATION :: Sixth year
HOUSE ::[cannon only] Ravenclaw
APPEARANCE&&PERSONALITY
DESCRIPTION :: Rose inherited the signature Weasley hair. Like her father, her eyes are blue, although can sometimes turn grey like her Grandfather Herbert. Her hair style, however, is all her mother. Rosie grew up attempting to tame her bushy hair, and, luckily, when she reached adolescence, that mop of bushy red became massive curls. Her curls fall down to about the lower part of her back, nicely covering up the small eagle tattoo on her left shoulder her parents have yet to realize she has. This Weasley looks a little older than she actually is, and stands at a height around 5'7''. She has a bit of a pudgy look, but has learned how to cleverly hide it. She also has a smattering of freckles across her nose, courtesy of her father.
Rose's name fits her well. She can usually be seen in floral-printed shirts, or any articles of clothing that one automatically associates with romance. However, as odd as it seems, she nevers wears the color pink. She also has a jean jacket that she hardly ever takes off. It was given to her by her mother's cousin when she was a little girl, and has become so ratty that the pockets are now held up with safety pins. However, Rose does not care. Her jacket is her most prized possession.
She prefers running around in bare feet to almost anything else, but since she was taught from childhood that most places require shoes, she has learned to live with them. She especially enjoys flipflops, although the occasional pair of sneakers is not the end of the world.
PLAYED BY :: Shayna Rose
PERSONALITY :: Like her mother, Rose enjoys reading anything she can get her hands on. Her Grandmother Rosalind gave Rose her mother's old bicycle for her seventh birthday, and Rose constantly used it to get to the library. Soon enough, all the public librarians had met her, and by the time she had left for Hogwarts, she had read almost the entire library. Luckily, there were several new wizarding novels she had yet to read at Hogwarts.
Heeding her father's words from when she had first entered Hogwarts, Rose began trying to outdo Scorpius Malfoy in her studies. She suceeded, and although not a top student like her mother, was revered by most of the professors. She despised Divination as Hermione had, and made no secret of the fact. Her Divination professor was forever warning her that her distaste of Divination would keep her from being able to save herself in the future--whatever that meant--, but Rose felt the whole subject was a load of lies. She preferred not to see what would happen in her later life, and would rather just take life as it came at her.
Following in her mother's footsteps, Rose reestablished the little-known S.P.E.W. organization. Unlike Hermione, Rose was able to get the group off of the ground, and now heads several different students in advocating rights for the house-elves. The house-elves have not been too happy with her, but determined to make their lives better, Rose quickly became accustomed to her bed not being made and her fire not being lit. She had been self-sufficient for as long as she could remember, and although her brother would have whined about the house-elves not doing their duty, Rose just did the chores herself. Less for the house-elves, anyway. Rose frequently gives speeches to her fellow students to get them involved in her dream, and has been known to debate many a topic over lunch at the Ravenclaw table. She is very passionate about her beliefs, and sometimes even gets into fights if a student belittles her because of them.
Like the influence for her name-- Grandmother Rosalind--, Rose is creative. She likes things that come from the heart, and usually gives handmade gifts rather than store-bought. She enjoys collaging, drawing, painting, and making"ABCs" of people's likes. Mostly movies, although Rose has yet to meet a student that is not her family who knows what movies are.
She is also bubbly and hardworking, which is why the Sorting Hat had such a difficult time in deciding whether to place her in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. Rose does not really have any courageous aspects, and although her family was disappointed that she had not gotten into Gryffindor, they understood that Ravenclaw was a much better fit. In either case, Ron was relieved that his daughter had not landed in the house of the badger.
FLAWS :: Unfortunately, Rose also got her father's clumsy spirit and the Weasley fiery temper. As mentioned above, this temper tends to put her in fights, which then lands her in detention. Hermione has been disappointed many times with her daughter's amount of punishments, but since Rose has the passionate spirit her mother had, Hermione cannot really scold her for it without seeming a hypocrite. Rose also tends to hold grudges, and constantly fights with her brother. She is extremely obstinate.

LIFE&&HISTORY
HISTORY:: After rejoicing about Voldemort's demise, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger began dating. The two had bickered on and off since first meeting at the age of twelve, and realized while trying to help Harry Potter find the Horcruxes in what should have been their seventh year that they loved each other. Sharing a kiss in the Chamber of Secrets when they ran off to grab some basilisk fangs for Harry, they confessed their feelings. Returning with the basilisk fangs and watching as Harry punctured Hufflepuff's Cup, they told him how they felt about each other. Harry informed them that it was not a surprise, and the three began to fight in the last battle of the wizarding war. Ron and Hermione watched as Voldemort's curse backfired on himself, and then decided that since victory had been on their side, they should act on their feelings. Five years later, the two were married, and a year later, Hermione sat under the Christmas tree waiting for Ron. When he stepped into the doorway, confused at what his wife was doing under a tree, she told him she was pregnant.
Rose was born in the hot month of August, and perhaps that is why she has loved swimming her entire life. She began talking and reading earlier than most children--at the mere age of two--, and did not start walking until after. Though it had shocked her at first, her Grandmother Molly found it fitting for her to carry around a book as a baby. After all, Rose's mother had read almost every book imaginable. Rose was able to improve her reading by reading out loud to her brother Hugo, who she welcomed at the same age she began talking and reading. The welcome, however, did not last long; Rose and Hugo soon had the inevitable sibling rivalry. They fought like Ron and Hermione had, and were forever scolded by their parents because of it. Rose felt Hugo never gave her enough privacy, and proved the point when he sneaked into her room and read her diary at the age of five. He had then proceeded to share her innermost thoughts with her cousins James, Ryan, and Fred, and Rose had never quite forgiven him for it.
Hermione wanted her children to know about their Muggle heritage. When Rose was six, her mother took her to spend the day in Muggle London. The two went to a museum about London's part in World War II, and from that moment forward, Rose was entranced with the Holocaust and 1930s-40s London. Four years later, Hermione introduced her to the story of Queen Elizabeth I, and Rose instantly fell in love with the Tudor reign. She started reading anything she could get her hands on about it, and can now list off all of King Henry VII's six wives, how they died, his children, and how his children's reigns affected her country. She enjoys listing the information off, in fact.
Hoping to get his little girl to adore the Chudley Cannons as much as he did, Ron started informing her of the Quidditch team at an early age. He even had Rose's room bedecked in the Chudley Cannons colors, at the protests of her mother. It was a sad day in the Granger-Weasley household when Rose told her father that the Chudley Cannons were alright, but she personally preferred the Holyhead Harpies. Ron had muttured a few inquiries of where he had went wrong, sadly shaking his head, but eventually got over it and was thankful that his daughter even liked Quidditch in the first place. Her Aunt Ginny had pulled her into a tight hug when she had learned that her niece loved the same team she did. Ron had still made sure that she knew every single team member of the Chudley Cannons, however.
After hearing her cousin James constantly talk about Hogwarts, Rose looked forward to it with her other cousin Albus-Severus. The minute she had recieved her letter of acceptance, she had placed it in her memory chest, and then begged her mother to take her to Diagon Alley for her school books and supplies. Hermione had consented, and Rose had jumped at the chance of visiting Flourish & Blotts. Upon entering Diagon Alley, Hermione recalled how much she had loved her cat Crookshanks, and decided to give her daughter the same enjoyment she had had. Rose had acquired an adorable grey and white tabby, and loves cuddling with the creature. She also got her first robe, and although cannot fit into it anymore, also placed it in her memory chest.
Finally the day came that Rose and Albus-Severus had been waiting for for ages. Rose woke up at the crack of dawn, and busily began making sure she had packed everything she needed, although Hermione had told her she did not need to be up until a few hours later. She was so excited that she even took the liberty to jump on her parents' bed until they woke up. Ron had groaned about how she was too early, but after Hermione reminded him of how their first day jitters had been, he had reluctantly gotten up and poured some apple juice for Rose. Not too long after, Rose and her family met up with the Potters at King's Cross, and the Hogwarts Express loomed in front of her. Ron unintentionally made her a bit nervous when he insisted she had to get into Gryffindor and outdo Scorpius Malfoy in her subjects, but she had promised she would try. Hermione found the answer good enough, and told Ron not to scare their daughter anymore.
Her first trip on the Hogwarts Express had passed in a blur, as she spent most of the time reading, and then she finally came to the castle. She smiled when she saw Rubeus Hagrid waiting for the first years, as she had known the man her whole life. The trip across the lake was a bit nerve-wrecking because of her fear of being on a boat in deep water, but went smoothly. She then entered the castle and waited impatiently to be Sorted. Spotting her cousin James at the Gryffindor table, she silently wished to not be placed in Slytherin. Her temper had made it to where her Uncle Fred had once joked that she might very well be made a Slytherin, but it was her fervent desire to not be one. Slytherin House had been different since the Light Side's triumph, but Rose still hoped not to be in it. When the Sorting Hat was placed on her head and started listing off her qualities, questioning whether she should be in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, she had started feeling a bit fearful of what her family would say if she was not in Gryffindor. The Sorting Hat had boomed "RAVENCLAW!", and, though James' and some of her various cousins' eyebrows had shot up to their hairlines, her family was still proud of her.
She quickly made a name for herself in Hogwarts. Everyone knew of her passion for house-elf rights, and tried to steer clear from any discussions of it. Most of the professors grew quite fond of her and praised her for her studies, but Rose disliked the attention. S.P.E.W. II became much bigger than her mother had ever dreamed, but Rose thinks it can always have more people. Now that it is sixth year, Rose is determined to make it the number one organization in the school. Of course, it has helped that her powers of persuasion have convinced several of her cousins to join. Now to get her brother involved...

RP SAMPLE :: Rose Weasley groaned as her bed hangings were thrust open. "Five more minutes, please!" she begged, wishing she had not been up late reading again. The wish was unnecessary, though, Rosie knew. It was time to get up, time to head off to breakfast and then Divination. What a great class to start the day with, Rose thought sarcastically. As if she really needed to hear once more that she was going to encounter the Grim soon. She inwardly chuckled as she recalled her Uncle Harry talking about how often his Divination professor had told him he was going to die. Rose's professor was a bit less dramatic than Sibyll Trelawney, but Rose despised the class nonetheless.
After deciding it was not possible for her to stay in bed one more minute if she did not want to be late to breakfast, Rose jumped out of bed and rummaged through her trunk. Pulling out her favorite jean jacket, a purple babydoll top, a black skirt, and a pair of white leggings, she got dressed in them. Since she was in school, though, a robe was required, and Rosie threw the black wizarding garb on over her Muggle clothing. She brushed her hair, slipped into a pair of sparkly purple ballet flats, grabbed her bookbag, and ran down to the Ravenclaw common room.
Spotting her best friend waiting for her at the entrance, Rose apologized for making her wait, and the two headed down to breakfast. It seemed the house-elves had decided to purposefully send potatoes and scrambled eggs up to Rose's plate, and Rosie stared in disgust at the food she hated most in the world. Oh well. One day the house-elves would be treated equally to wizards, and they would thank her then. Besides, she still had a glass of pumpkin juice, an orange, and a plate of waffles. That was certainly enough to tide her over.
**I am not quite certain, but is there any room for Rose on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team? Maybe as a Chaser?**
I hope that was okay! Please let me know if there is anything you would like me to modify, and I will be sure to do it.
