Rose Weasley rolled up her sleeves. Her cousin Albus-Severus had just insisted girls were not good at Quidditch, and Rose was out for revenge. It seemed only fitting that she should Owl Aunt Ginny, as the two had shared a liking for the all-girls Quidditch team Holyhead Harpies for most of Rosie's life.
"Ooh, I am going to get him good," Rose muttered. She typically loved hanging out with Albykins, but with insulting girls and Quidditch, he had crossed a line. He had crossed a line that should never have been crossed if Rose Rowena Weasley had anything to say about it.
Dear Aunt Ginny, Hi! It's Rosie. I just wanted to let you know that your dear, dear son Albus-Severus just said Lily could never be Seeker. And you want to know his reason? He said, and I quote: "Because she's a girl." As if! Girls are amazing at Quidditch, too. Like Gwenog Jones. Anything new about her recently? I really should start subscribing to the Daily Prophet...Mum has been saying that for ages. Oh well. Talk to you later! And please tell Mum to tell Hugo that I hope he is having a good time in Greenland.
Rosie gritted her teeth at the last line of the letter. She was really enjoying being away from her brother for the remainder of their break, and really wished he would just stay in Greenland. But, as all Weasleys were supposed to love each other, she knew her aunt would want to hear only nice things toward Rose's brother.
Sending Hugo's owl off (her absentminded brother had left his animal behind--again), Rosie smiled at the thought of what Aunt Ginny might say. She then proceeded to write to her Uncle George.
--
A few hours later, Rosie had also sent off a request for helping her plan a prank to her twin uncles. Albus-Severus will never know what hit him.
Hearing the door squeak open, Rose turned in alarm.
"Oh, it's just you," she sighed in relief.

After getting a howler from her mother half way through her sixth year charms class, Victoire wondered exactly why Fleur had decided mid day in December to start fretting about her daughter's wedding. It wasn't very strange for he mother to be this random, but she usually thought better than to bother her during a class! She was teaching her students a very complicated spell, when an owl swoop in form her window, and dropped a red enveloped in from of her. Before she had the chance to do anything, it exploded, and started to shout at her in her mother's very loud voice. It went something like this: '' 'Ow could you be working at a time like thees! I 'ave been waiting for your owl for three days! You will be married and you 'ave yet to pick dresses for the bridesmaids! Oh mon dieux, you 'aven't even picked bridesmaids, 'ave you?! Victoire, ou est ta tete?! I weesh to speak to you right away!"
Victoire shuddered at the memory, and shook her hair out of her face as she climbed the steps up to the owlery. She was going to answer her mum's howler with a simple owl and a promise to meet her soon to prepare things for the wedding. When she had at first told her mother that she and Teddy were getting married, she had made her promise she wouldn't get too involved, but it was safe to say the promise was broken.
As she pushed the door open, Victoire realized she wasn't the only one sending a letter at the moment, and was surprised to see her little cousin Rose.
"Oh, it's just you,"
"Little Ol' me." she replied smiling. "Who did you expect, Rosie? A ghost?" Victoire laughed, because even though Hogwarts did have ghosts, she sometimes heard some muggleborn students use that same expression. She advanced towards her cousin and held out her arms to hug her, her letter in her left hand. "So what are you doing up here?" she said after she had hugged her.

Rose wondered whether she should answer the question truthfully. Tattling...exactly something her Mum had done in Hogwarts. She knew her dad would be disappointed in her, but even Ron Weasley knew not to mess with girls about Quidditch. After all, his sister had been on the Holyhead Harpies, and his wife was about as feminist as one could get. Besides, Albus-Severus had to be taught a lesson. He could not just go around insulting girls. Not when he was related to so many.
"Oh, nothing," she answered mischeviously. Cousin Victoire was awesome, but as Charms professor was maybe a bit too strict. Besides, this was between Rose and her uncles. If even one other Weasley got wind--well, it could easily get back to Albus. That was the problem with having such a big family...although Rose loved every bit of it.
"What are you doing? Shouldn't you be planning for your wedding?" I sound like Aunt Fleur, Rose thought, shaking her head. Next thing she knew, she would be sounding like her Mum. I probably do already.

Victoire moved over to a small owl, and slowly fastened her letter to the owls foot before muttering 'shell cottage'. She watched it fly off before answering Rosie, and couldn't help but notice that Rose looked reluctant to say anything. She wondered what had happened to make Rosie not trust her, but she didn't dwell on it because Victoire always had a way of talking it out of her cousins. They were a big family after all, and Victoire found that if they didn't communicate, it was easy to lose touch.
"Oh come on, you can tell me!" she said jumping a little. She was the oldest of the Weasley's but probably the most energetic. She blinked at Rose expectantly, and then decided she would guess. "Not writing to you boyfriend are you?" Victoire giggled slightly, it was a possibility; her cousin was extremely pretty, but she had yet to see her being too friendly with a boy, which made Victoire wonder if it was time for 'the talk' that she had given all of her cousins. However, she remembered what Rosie had walked in on a few years back and bit her lip, she didn't think Rose needed the talk after all, the poor girl.
"What are you doing? Shouldn't you be planning for your wedding?" Victoire's eyes widened at her statement, and she placed her hands on her temples, "Oh please don't say that! I've heard enough of that today!" Victoire huffed audibly but smiled a little after. "I mean... you were in my class this morning, you heard the howler... bit much wasn't it?" On the subject of her mother, she was a bit too controlling, even though she loved her to death. However, Victoire hoped the controlling gene missed her.

Rosie let out a little giggle at the mere thought of her having a boyfriend. Love would find her one day, but that a relationship just was not for her right now. She had too many things to do before she fell head-over-heels; free the house-elves, for one. It was her firm belief that had her Mum been less preoccupied with her father's fling with Lavendar Brown, maybe Hermione Granger could have freed the house-elves after all.
"Nope, no boyfriend," she replied. "I would tell you, except for the fact that it is between Uncle George, Uncle Fred, and myself. Oh, and Aunt Ginny for that matter. And, no offense, Vic, but I cannot tell any other Weasleys. I do not want it getting back to Alby."
Rose cringed at having already said too much. Vic would now grill her until she spilled the beans, and Rose just could not do that. Considering her Uncle Harry had forced her cousin James to allow Alby some use of his inherited Invisibility Cloak, Alby could be around any corner. And then all of Rosie's plans would be wasted.
Albus-Severus and Rose may have two of the closest cousins in the Weasley clan, but that did not mean that Rose would not teach him a lesson. She had considered asking her Mum to teach her how to throw canaries at him, as she had with her father in their sixth year of Hogwarts, but decided against it. She did not want his eyes to be pecked out; just for him to admit that girls could be good Quidditch players, too.
Rosie did not quite understand it. While arguing with her cousin Jamesy that night, and with Alby's added agreements, Alby had said that Rose and himself were better Quidditch players than James. Not too long after, however, he then took back the statement by saying his sister Lily could not be a Seeker like James (and as Alby hoped to eventually be) because she was a girl. The boy had gone against his earlier comment, and Rose had seen red. As red as a rose.
"Aunt Fleur getting on your case about the wedding, then? Too bad you got it in the middle of your class...did Uncle Bill ever tell you about Dad getting a Howler from grandmother during a meal at the Great Hall? After he and Uncle Harry crashed grandfather's enchanted Ford Anglia? I think your embarrassment is probably miniscule in comparison...if that makes you feel any better."
Rosie always surprised herself about how much of a chatterbox she could be. Of course, in a family the size of the Weasleys, one had to speak up once in a while. Otherwise, they would be completely forgotten.
