Dressed very casually today, he wore a dark green sweater over the top of a plain white t-shirt, and just jeans. Nothing special, after all he had just come here to get away from Hogwarts for a while. At least that was the good thing about being a teacher, he could leave on the weekends and nobody could care less. Not like he told anybody anyways, he wasn't really close to any of the professors, though he was close enough to talk to them regularly but it was mainly just because they worked together. Therefore he had almost nothing to keep him from staying here on the weekends.
Another joy of teaching his subject was that he didn't have to correct any papers or anything like that. It made him have loads more free time to just sit around and do whatever he wanted. At the moment he was thinking a good way to shut his class up was to threaten them with a huge paper on flying. Just the thought of it made him smile, he was sure there would be some students that stress over it and do more than they should have. Not like he would really read them, he would probably forget about them and just give people the points anyways.
But just as he was thinking about how nice of day this was and how he was glad to be here, he saw the one woman he never wanted to see ever again. That horrible woman that seemed to irritate his soul even more than some of those annoying students in his classes. Carolyn Porter was probably at the top of his list of dislike. He highly doubted she could do anything to change that, though he doubted she would want to do anything to change it anyways. Just as he was about to walk in the other direction, he noticed who was with her. From what Maddison had told him he could just assume that those were her daughters. Should he just be nice and leave her in peace? Or should he go up to her?
Walking in her direction, he was going to play the nice and innocent act first. Smiling his oh so charming smile as he approached her, he said in a pleasant voice as if he had just seen a friend,"Ms. Porter?" But then said quickly,"Remember me? We met at the Leaky Cauldron the other day." Glancing over at the girls that were with her, he smirked and said quietly,"Oh wow, you actually do have a heart." Of course he wasn't about to mention Maddison to her, he didn't want to cause any trouble for her.

Dressed in a pair of jeans and a simple sweater, Carolyn Porter walked through a park not too far from her home. With her were her twin daughters, Hope and Faith, both of whom were dressed in similar clothing as their mother. They were walking and talking and having a good time, it seemed. For once, Carolyn had not brought her work with her, and she wasn't talking about her work. And there was a smile on the older woman's face, a genuine one.
It was very rare that Carolyn got to take a break and spend time with her daughters. That was mostly because she didn't want to. She liked working and staying busy, mostly because it kept her mind off things she didn't want to think about--her ex-husbands, mostly. She sighed a bit to herself after having a good laugh, shaking her head as she thought about a joke that one of her daughters told, one that lingered inside her head.
"You girls are too much," she said with a laugh, shaking her head. Her smile remained upon her face, almost like it was permanently plastered there, at least until the end of the day. It had been a while since she and her daughters had just spent some time together, without Carolyn's work and their usual petty arguments. But, like it was an inevitable fate, something--or someone--came to ruin it.
Standing before Carolyn and her two daughters was a man she had met a few days ago in the Leaky Cauldron He had been sitting at her table. And then he had the nerve to talk to her. He had been so annoying in the midst of their conversation, even when she was trying to be nice. She sighed some, and her smile faded when she saw him. Had he really just come over and spoken to her? Had he just asked her if she remembered him?
"I remember you," she said under her breath, gazing at him with her hazel eyes. She blinked a few times. Her daughters looked at her with a questioning gaze and then at the professor standing there before them. They blinked a few times and stood close behind Carolyn, curious as to what was going on. Carolyn looked at the young professor with a fierce gaze in her eyes. He had just said something that pissed her off.
"Is that really necessary, Mr. Davies?" She sighed and swallowed. She really didn't want to put on a show right there in the middle of a Muggle park and in front of her daughters. She blinked a few times. She sighed heavily again. "These are my daughters, Faith and Hope." She was trying to change the subject. And she was trying not to put on a show. But that was only for the sake of her daughters.

Now that he had talked to Maddison and spent some time with her out in the rain, he could definitely see the vast differences between her to her dreadful aunt. Of course it had been obvious from the moment they met that she was different than her, and his first impression of her was much better than the one he'd gotten from Carolyn. He much preferred the Maddison over Carolyn even though it was incredibly entertaining to annoy her. But really, between the two he would much rather spend his time with the pretty blonde than the wicked bitch of the west. However he was just going to keep on thinking happy thoughts right now and do his best to not let Carolyn get to him.
Just happy thoughts, at least it wasn't raining, the other day in the rain had been enough rain to last him a few days. And he did have a pack of cigarettes on him, so if she really did annoy him he could hopefully be able to calm down a little bit and try not to be as stressed. But knowing her, he could probably smoke that whole pack and she would still find some way to upset him.
"That's good. At first I thought you wouldn't, you did seem to be a little tense at the Leaky Cauldron the other day." If tense was the right word to put it. He could have used loads of other words but he decided to be nice for now. If she got mean than he would be just as mean right back. For now he would be subtly mean as if he didn't mean anything by his little comments. He had loved doing it when he was at school, he'd do it to the professors and then pretend as if he didn't mean anything negative at all.
"I know...shouldn't have pointed out the obvious." he said with a smile and then looked over at the two girls. Well he wasn't about to be rude to them, they hadn't done anything to him so he would just be polite. "Nice to meet you both. I'm Tom." Turning his focus back to that wicked old woman, he smiled and asked as if he cared,"So what are you doing out here? I would have figured you'd be at the oh so important Ministry."
