Rose Weasley had spent the entire morning arguing with herself. The main inquiry that kept seeming to pop up was What am I doing? She had never been on a date before, and had never wanted to, either. Yet here she had agreed to join Frank Alexzander Longbottom Jr. on one. Of course, it did not help her irritation with herself any when she had torn through her trunk, tossing aside every article of clothing she owned. Rosie had never felt that her clothing choices were inadequate until that morning, and she had been frantic when she realized she had nothing to wear. She had no idea when she had started thinking like Lily Luna, but the fact was that she had.
Luckily, when Rose had ran to Victoire Weasley and explained about the problem, her cousin had had an immediate solution. As Rosie had told Vic too late, the Charms professor could not take the redhead shopping as she would have liked, but Rosie was ecstatic that she had avoided that certain form of torture. Instead, Vic dug into her possesions and emerged with an outfit that even Rose could not help but find spectacular.
Dressed in a soft dark green cashmere turtleneck short-sleeve, black pants, tan snow boots, and with her hair held back in a silver headband, Rosie was a little less anxious than she had been. Of course she would not leave Hogwarts without her favorite jean jacket; in her second year, she had magicked the item to match the outside temperature so that she could still don it in the winter. Although it was a ratty object, Rose never went anywhere without it. The jacket seemed to bring a bit of her family with her wherever she wore it to.
Even with her begging and pleading, Rosie had still been forced to have some cosmetics on herself. Vic had told her that it would make her appearance even lovelier, and then had explained to her that no matter what, Rosie did not have a choice anyway. So while Rose smoothed down her pants and magicked herself a mirror to be certain that no hair was out of place, she could not help but be aware of the slight blush, mascara, eyeshadow, and lipstick that Vic had put onto her.
Frank had told Rosie to meet him at the beach, and although Rosie had found the idea a bit unusual since it was the middle of winter, she had turned one of her Astronomy books into a Portkey and was now at the location.
Spotting Frank up ahead, she ran in front of him. "Hey."
