Escaping the noise

Gabriel walked out of the castle and made his way to the black lake. He had a lot to think about and to start doing that he needed to get away from all the noise inside the castle. Gabriel walked towards the lake and looked at it for a few but soon found himself sitting against a tree and starting to fall a sleep, thinking could be boring sometimes. He thought he was going to fall a sleep but then he heard somebody say something.

[Evelyn Thomas]

Evelyn had been walking around the lake by herself. She'd needed time to think and she needed to be able to hear herself think. She left the Lions' Den and decided that a walk around the lake would smooth her mind and her limbs enough for her to sleep properly later that night. She walked around once but decided a few more laps around the lake wouldnt hurt. She sighed as she looked up to the sky. "Why cant I think straight..." She asked herself.

She continued to walk around the lake when she noticed somebody else walking towards it. "Guess the whole castle is a bit too loud..." She said as she walked over to the person. When she got up close she noticed that it was the guy Lucinda had cursed out and punched in the Hospital Wing. She approached him and cleared her throat. "Uhhmmm... Hi..." She said softly but loud enough for him to hear.

"Hi, your that girl from the hospital aren't you?" Gabriel asked not turning to face her, the fact he knew someone was there was enough for him. "I thought you would be attacking me right now, you seem like a good friend of Lucinda's. A friend of Lucinda is usually a close one that tends to attack at her will." Gabriel said with a slight frown, he didn't mean it as an insult.

[Evelyn Thomas]

"Yeah... I am that girl from the hospital... and yes... I am a good friend of Lucinda's... But I happen to have a mind of my own. I choose who to attack and I choose who not to attack. I choose not to attack you now but if you want me to......" She pulled out her wand. "... I can make it happen. Just let me know." She pointed her wand at him. "Oh and you can pick the spell too." She watched him for a minutes waiting for him reply then she put her wand away. "Can I sit?" She asked politely.

Gabriel laughed at her comment. "It's good to see somebody has a good sense of humor and that won't be necessary. I just wanted to ask a question and sorry about all the confusion I created the other day in the hospital." Gabriel said with a laugh. "Ya you can sit as long as you promise not to jinx me into oblivion." Gabriel said with a laugh, he wasn't trying to be funny but he was slightly nervous so he did end up doing so.

[Evelyn Thomas]

Evelyn grinned. "Who would I be if I didnt have a sense of humor? No sorries are accepted. Family bitterness. It's common." She shrugged. "I promise I wont jinx you into oblivion.... I wont jinx you that bad." She laughed as she sat down beside him and looked out at the lake. She turned to him. "Im Evelyn Thomas by the way... Call me Evie." She sighed deeply. "So... What was that with you and Luci? Does she hate your part of her family?"

"Nice name, I've always liked that name oddly enough. Well I'm Gabriel Lestrange." Gabriel said the last word filled with disgust and hatred. "You must be a riot in the gryffindor common rooms, few people there have such cruel sense of humors." Gabriel said jokingly and laughed. "Well Evie, me and Lucinda were talking after she hit me in the face yet again. My sister came in and I was forced to attack Lucinda so that my sister wouldn't find out we were allies. I can't have my mom becoming suspicious of me not until after I turn her in to the ministry. That's all that happened in a nutshell." Gabriel explained.

[Evelyn Thomas]

Evie laughed. "Yes... But our common room hasnt been such a riot." She looked back out at the Black Lake and listened to what he was saying. She sighed and shook her head. "And... who's your mother?" She asked curiously. "I mean.... Im sorry if it should be known... But I dunno..." She grinned sheepishly. "Im sorry about what happened.... Lucinda isnt the nicest person in the world... But she's still not your typical Slytherin...." She glanced at him.

"My mother is Bellatrix Lestrange, the bitch with a wand, and an arsenal of unforgivable curses." Gabriel said with a frown. "Don't worry about it, I'm not one to care about who knows about my mother." Gabriel said with a reassuring smile. "I know Lucinda isn't the nicest person and neither am I. I think it's a family thing but as far as the not your typical slytherin that's something only me and her have in common." Gabriel continued.

Evie thought for a minute. Who... is Bellatrix Lestrange....? She thought. She snapped her finger. "Bellatrix Lestrange! I thought she was dead.... Hmmm.... I guess Vic brought back bad people too.... She's the one that drove Neville's parents crazy... Dad talks so much shit about her..." She shook her head then covered her mouth and looked slowly at Gabriel. "Shit... There go those mouth droppings... Im so sorry... That was super rude... Im sooo... sorry...." She repeated over and over again.

"It's not rude, it's true. I hate the bitch and wish she would die. I also know what she is capable of, she has left me with a lot of painful memories." Gabriel said and pulled up his sleeve revealing several scars and burn marks from his mother's "Lessons". "She wanted to engrave the Lestrange family lesson into my flesh and to teach me the power of evil. She has been doing this for about eight years and she still does it. Sometimes for fun and sometimes because I just piss her off." Gabriel said bluntly.

[Evelyn Thomas]

Evie stared in disbelief at Gabriel. "You wish she would die?! Come on Gabriel... She cant be that bad to you.... You're her child..." She shook her head until he pulled up his sleeve and showed her the scars. She gasped and covered her mouth. "Merlin...." She muttered. She uncovered her mouth and moved her hand slowly to his arm. She gently touched and traced the scars, afraid of hurting him even though the scars had been there for years. Suddenly, she pulled her hand back and looked at Gabriel. "She... cant... be this cruel...." She said motioning to his arm. "Seriously...."

"You had a better reaction then I thought you would have." Gabriel said without an emotion. "Don't make me laugh, the woman can be worse. During one of her more infamous rampages she tortured me with crucio until I was unconscious and then she went on a killing spree. The next day she came home and gave me about half of these scars." Gabriel said with a laugh, it was a nervous as well as angry laugh though.

[Evelyn Thomas]

Evie shook her head. "What... the HELL is her problem?!" She half-yelled. "Maybe... You're right." She muttered. "She's a really beyond sucky person for that!" She tried to think so a while but as she thought she kept picturing the scenes of Gabriel being tortured by his own mother. She sighed. "I need to walk....." She stood up. "Wanna come along?" She asked the Slytherin. "I just need to walk around the lake a few times. Clears my mind." She smiled a little.

"I'm sorry if my little tale of torture disturbed you. I didn't mean to, I wouldn't have told you if I knew it would have effected you like this." Gabriel said with a frown. He shook his head from side to side to dispel the memories that were currently floating through his mind. Gabriel didn't answer her until after he got up. "Ya and maybe we can talk about something other then my horrific past. How about we talk about you?" Gabriel suggested.
