Escaping the noise

"I still shouldn't have done that though, now I'm gonna feel bad about it. I mean I knew you liked someone yet I did that. It was wrong of me." Gabriel insisted a hint of sadness in his voice. When Evie looked at the lake Gabriel did the same, he was just so confused right now, he didn't know what to do.

When Evie hugged him Gabriel returned it and smiled warmly at her, he was glad she hadn't gotten made about this. "English?" Gabriel asked in a whisper followed by a laugh, he was really starting to regret not learning French. When Evie kissed his cheek he blushed and smiled at her but it faded when she apologized. "It's ok. I was the one who started to the kiss so it was my fault and besides......... I....kinda.......enjoyed........it." Gabriel said stalling to find the right words. When she started to walk away Gabriel followed her, this was all his fault he needed to fix this.

"Evie, I'm sorry about kissing you. I'll help you with Remus in any way I can to make up for my mistake. Just please don't feel bad about it." Gabriel pleaded.

Evie sighed. "Gabriel... Please dont be sorry about kissing me. I wanted you to... Dont call it a mistake.... and...." She turned to him. "Dont try to help me with him if its not what you want. Im just confused Gabriel." She smiled at him. "But its not your fault so dont think it is. Its my own fault for kissing you back...."

She pulled him down to her level and brushed her lips against his. "Can you answer something for me? I just want you to answer it honestly before I turn and walk away.... And dont try to stop me... I need to think...."

"I'm glad you wanted me to, so now I won't have to feel so bad." Gabriel said with a nervous yet happy laugh. "I want to help you out in any way I can so it doesn't matter who it is you need my help with." Gabriel said with a smile. "Well I didn't mind it though, your a good kisser." Gabriel said not thinking of what he was saying. "Damn it, think before you speak. Think before you speak!" Gabriel thought angrily to himself.

Gabriel was surprised by her sudden movement but didn't mind it. "What ever your question is just ask and I'll answer it honestly. Once I've answered I'll let you walk away so you can think." Gabriel said giving her a solemn smile.

Evie nodded. "I want to know.... Why you kissed me? Why..... me? And... What do you want me to do regarding you and Remus-James.....?" She said, quickly. She waited for his answers and thought about the questions she'd just asked. She hoped he didnt think she was being mean or regretted anything that had just happened. She looked in his eyes, waiting for answers she thought would be simple. "I really want to know...." She said softly, before breaking her gaze and looking down at her feet.

"Well I guess it's because you just looked so beautiful and your sense of humor really grabbed my attention. You also had one of the most important things I girl can have, a good personality. You weren't plain but you weren't plastic, your a real person or at least you act like one. That's what made me do it, my attraction to those qualities was to great and well I just liked you." Gabriel said answering her first question. "Regarding me and Remus-James I think you should follow your heart. Who do you really want to be with? I respect your decision and will be friend no matter whom you chose." Gabriel said with a reinforcing warm smile.

"You have a right to know why I did what I did and I was happy to tell you." Gabriel said at her last comment.

Evie's head was still down as Gabriel answered her questions. She sighed when he told her to follow her heart. Thats the point of the question.... I dont know what my heart is saying... My hearts doesnt know what its saying.... She thought to herself. She shook her head and looked up at Gabriel. She smiled. "Thank you Gabriel." She kissed him one last time and hugged him again. "We'll talk soon." She said before turning and walking towards the castle. She had alot to think about...

"Welcome." Gabriel said with a warm smile and kissed her back, he hoped it wouldn't be the last kiss he would give her. When she hugged him Gabriel hugged her back and smiled. "I look forward to it." Gabriel said and released her from the hug, he watched her leave before he sat down. Gabriel turned so he was looking at the lake. He had a few things to think about himself, one of them being the fact he was in love with a gryffindor and he might have just made the girl's life a little harder.
