Lucinda smiled and said, "Good. Thats what we want after all. She laughed and said, "We could even go buy a cute outfit to match all this. I mean, a dark green skirt or pair of shorts and a dark green or silver or striped green and silver genie like top would be adorable. Especially with green and silver checkered converses to go with those radical socks. I may even have something untouched like that barried in the dark hole I call a school trunk. Its really a bottomless pit I think I found my red cape to my little red riding hood halloween costume from when I was 11. Like I said in my trunk the things you never new you could find in a trunk can be found within. Probably a gigantic fluffy bunny within there somewhere."

"I don't do shorts or skirts..." said Kat without even a second of hesitation. Katherine always wore pants. They ranged from jeans to sweats and workout pants...but she pretty much always wore pants. In fact, the only time she EVER wore shorts was if she was going swimming and knew she was completely alone. She wouldn't ever really admit why she hated shorts, skirts and dresses (unless, of course, it was to a close friend) but the fact of the matter was that she simply refused to wear them.
Katherine laughed softly at the rest of what Lucinda was saying about her bottomless school trunk. Deep down, she hoped that the little bit about shorts and skirts had gone forgotten. To help that along she went on to say, "Little Red Riding Hood? Are you completely serious?"

"Yeah I am. 2nd year I was tinker bell from a muggle story. She's a fairy. Thats all my parents knew. They didn't know she was from a muggle story." Lucinda said, "3rd year I was a cat, and Last year I was a evil Alice and Wonderland and I don't know what I'll be this year. Probably Satan's bride or a sexy nurse." She giggled and said, "You never know with me."

Katherine was quite amused at all of the different things that Lucinda dressed up as for Halloween. Honestly, Kat hadn't ever really done that whole thing. Making a face, she remembered one event though. "I don't dress up really...except for at last year's school party. I don't bloody know how they convinced me to do it though," she admitted, shaking her head and making another face, "Hope, for Merlin's sake...and mine, that there were not pictures taken. Or, if there were, that I've burnt them all."
Mentally, she shuddered. Kat didn't usually do the dressing up thing simply because she usually had better things to do. Before she started at Hogwarts, she always spent Hallow's eve playing tricks with her father. After starting school, she tended to relax in the Hufflepuff common room with a good book or working on her Quidditch playbook. Halloween wasn't her thing honestly.

"I do it for kicks. Its all in good fun." Lucinda said with a smile. She twirled her hair around her fingers and said, "Your mother might like my work of art. You know. But no Offence you look like a pickle with all the green on. Put some vinnigar on you and you would be good to go!" She giggled madly and held a jar of vinigar up but began drinking it. Lucinda was weird.

"A pickle?! I don't look like a ruddy pickle!" defended Kat with a giggle, "Pride of the Irish!" Standing up perfectly straight, Katherine proudly burst into song, "In valley green, on towering crag, our fathers fought before us, and conquered 'neath the same old flag, that's proudly floating o'er us!" It was, of course, part of a verse from the National Anthem of the Republic of Ireland. Her grandmum had taught her the original version, in Gaelic, but she far preferred to chant it in good old English.
Giggling at Lucinda's drinking of the jar of vinegar, Kat shook her head and softly, mostly to herself, sang, "Sinne Firnna Fáil, a tá fé gheall ag éirinn." That was the first few lines of the chorus...and it pretty much translated to something along the lines of "Soldiers are we whose lives are pledged to Ireland." Though Katherine was merely half Irish, she was quite devoted to that bit of her heritage.

Lucinda giggled and said, "Alltid slit din farger og fly din farger høy, lar Aldri din stolthet dør." She then said, "Bet you don't understand Norwedgian. But for your convienence.... I said : Always wear your colors and fly your colors high, Never let your pride die." She smiled and said I learned to speak it on my own at the age of 7. It was easy. Cuss your parents out and they won't know it."

Impressed by Lucinda's knowledge of a second language and even moreso to know that she learned it on her own, Kat applauded and gave an enthusiastic smile. "Bravo! I had no idea you actually knew another language...but, then again, I never did ask," she giggled softly, "I only know a little bit of Gaelic since grandmum Finnigan was insistent on teaching me the National Anthem in the language that she believes it was meant to be sung in. That and I've picked up a few words here or there when she and auntie Brianda get to bumbling away."
Laughing softly Kat went on to say, "If I started going on at my mum in another language, she'd know I was using swears and I'd wind up on restriction for ages. I'm not even allowed to bloody say the word bloody around her or she goes off. Something about it not being ladylike to say stuff like that or use swears."

Lucinda rolled her eyes and said, "Maybe we can fix her view point. I am after all a good arguer and persuader." Lucinda smiled devilishly and narrowed her eyes cat like. "I'll start talking in Norwedgian and you can go 'Oh sorry mum all she speaks is norwedgian." Lucinda giggled. I can even teach you probably. If you wanted. or even Russian. I know a bit. I pick up on languages pretty fast and quite easly."

"Oye! If you tried arguing with my mum, you'd end up going mental. I used to try when I was little but the woman is impossible...so I gave up after a while," replied Katherine, giving her friend a very serious nod to enforce what she'd said. Honestly, it was nearly impossible to ever with a disagreement with Lavender Finnigan. She disapproved of nearly everything and she was as stubborn as they came. Sometimes Kat wondered how her father ever put up with the woman.
Giggling lightly, she thought about the prospect of learning a language aside from English. Once, her mum tried to get her to learn French but it all just went in one ear and right back out the other. In fact, the only things Kat knew were a couple of words in Italian, one or two in Spanish and a bit of Gaelic. "I'm much better at learning sport related things than languages. I don't know how easy it'd be for you to teach me anything to do with languages."

Lucinda laughed and said, "I don't know. But one thing is for sure. Its hard to out argue me too so me and your mum would be at it for hours." She began humming a song and said, "Well. I'm going to clean up all this stuff amd we can find something else to do." She began picking the nail polish and make up and everything else that was present on the table."

Nodding in complete agreement, Kat couldn't disagree that it would be rather interesting to watch and listen to her mum and Lucinda argue. From what she could tell, based off of what she knew about the two, they'd probably be at it for days...not just hours. One thing was for sure though, Kat would remember to not start up any sort of arguments with Lucinda since she knew she probably wouldn't win anyway.
"It IS Friday," noted Katherine with a grin as she began to help with the clean up, "We should slip out and do something fun." Though Kat didn't know what there was to do really, she did know that her new look did deserve a little bit of celebration at the very least. Besides that, there were no classes tomorrow so there should be no harm in gettin up to a little fun.

"I was going to say we could go to a wizarding club or a muggle one but whats fun when you won't drink. Of coarse the guys are always fun too. What do ya say. Wanna go to a club?" Lucinda said smiling, "I mean your looks are really set for partying so just got to wear a pair of jeans, nice shoes and a cute top." Lucinda was a party animal at points.

Thinking about it a moment, Kat debated her options. It was true that she didn't drink (for various reasons) but that didn't mean that she couldn't have a little fun. Grinning, she replied, "To the clubs it is! I don't know if I have a top that you would consider cute but I do have a few shirts that go perfectly with my hair and nails."
She didn't ever go out much with people her own age when she was home. There were a few times that she and her cousin Liam would run off to some wicked good party that his friends were throwing. Once, even, she and her cousins, Greg and Tony, went to a wizarding club. But she'd never gone out to clubs with people that she wasn't related to. Grinning, she added, "I'll have to run down to my dorm to change before we go though."

"Me too. As cute as my outfit is. I have to put something more partyish and clubbish on. I so hope I don't get a hangover. Or end up in some other guys bed I don't know." Lucinda said and laughed a little, "Couldn't stand the horror. I would shoot myself. Litterally. Or kill the guy. Either way would suit me. But that would be my own secret don't need everyone knowing I party like an animal."
