Laughing lightly, she shook her head in a very amused manner. The flirting and joking never did stop with Coop but she honestly didn't mind it. After knowing him and his little quirks for so many years, Kat had sort of grown used to it. It would have been rather odd for him to go without saying things or making his silly little flirty remarks. Hence, she merely laughed and questioned, "Never miss a beat, do you Weasley?"
Mounting her broom, Katherine kicked off gently from the thick, green grass and let her Nimbus rise slowly. Even with Cooper circling her, she wasn't about to start off too quickly. After all, Kat had a specific regimine that she followed on a daily basis. "Such a gentleman too," she giggled, finally leaning forward a bit on her broom to start her first lap around the pitch, "Coming then?"

"No, I don't. That's why I'm going to be Minister for Magic on day." That was a far-fetched idea but, it was one idea. Cooper really hadn't decided what to do after Hogwarts. His father had been hounding him about it all during holiday. Coop just wasn't sure what he wanted to do. He supposed his best bet would be try to get an internship or some type of job in the Ministry and go from there.
Cooper bowed his head, "That's what I'm told," he said. He waited a moment before taking off to fly right next to Katherine. "So, what is it you normally do up here?" He was sure she had some specific things she did during her "work out". Cooper usually just did what he randomly felt like. When it came to a team practice, well - that of course was much different. Then he was all serious, and did everything by the book - just about.

"Minister Coop Weasley? I think you'd pull more girls if you went out for a professional team," Kat suggested, half jokingly. She didn't want to admit it but she was also half complimenting his Quidditch abilities. Anyone good enough to make captain of a Hogwarts house team was at least worth looking at when it came to professional teams. That was, after all, what she intended to look into once she finished school but she wasn't just about to blurt out that she was hoping to one day work up to playing for the Irish National team.
Picking up her pace a little, Katherine felt the light breeze against her skin and it actually made her smile. Well, that and the fact that she had someone to run warm-ups with. It was always more fun to have someone to chat with than to simply work out solo. Stealing a quick glance over at Cooper, she answered, "Few laps for starts. Run some endurance drills. Push for speed...and then toss the quaffle around a little. I'm surprised you don't have a regimine...what with being Gryffindor captain and all." As she rounded the goal posts, she headed around the announcer's tower. Periodically, she'd check to see if Weasley was keeping up...not that she'd have expected him to fall back.

"Minister Cooper Weasley...hm, it does have a nice ring to it, eh? I have thought about quidditch but, who knows by then I might just find that one girl." Cooper said, adding a shrug. It was a toss up between the Ministry and professional quidditch. He did have exceptional skills in that department. Cooper wanted to do something worth while and make a difference, you can't do that exactly in the quidditch field.
Oh, so there is going to be actually practicing going on.. he thought as she told him her plan. That was OK with him though, he just had to act his serious quidditch self, along with his flirty, joking self. Cooper picked up his own pace, keeping his broom perfectly in line with hers. "Oh, I do. I take team practices very, very serioulsy. Practices like these, not so much."

Cooper Weasley? Looking for one girl?! Katherine mentally gasped at the mere notion. She'd always seen him as the all-around-just-generally-flirty-with-all-the-girls-and-not-caring-to-settle-for-one type...and yet, here he was saying something about finding "that one girl." It was completely and totally shocking. Even so, she didn't want to dwell upon it considering he'd probably try to play it off. It was sort of cute that he actually was mature enough to look at things like that. Shocking, but quite adorable.
"I always take my warm-ups, work outs and practices pretty seriously," Kat confessed honestly, "Can't let myself get more out of shape. I swear, though, no matter how much I push myself, I doubt I'll ever..." Mentally, Katherine slapped herself. She'd just about confessed one of her biggest insecurities and to a boy who could very easily use it to his advantage. Rather than let that ruin her entire work out, she picked up her speed again in an attempt to catch him off guard and at least lose him for a few seconds.
Pushing herself even harder, Katherine leaned down further against her broom to cut back on wind resistance. Her broom maneuvered gracefully around the stands and back through the other set of hoops. Still, she felt as though she needed to go faster. Bugger! Come on... she mentally urged of herself.

Cooper was about to reply until she shot off. He was going to say that in his opinion, she didn't look out of shape. No, it wasn't meant to be a flirty comment either. In his own quidditch serious opinion, Katherine looked pretty darn good. Cooper hated when girls put themselves down in a sense. At least, he thought she was about to say something along those lines. He just hoped she didn't over do it.
Cooper sighed flew behind her for a little bit. Kat was pushing her broom to go faster, he could see it. He shook his head thinking, if she tries leaning over anymore, she'll fall off! He did have to admit, she had her mind in the right place. However; when Cooper practiced alone he liked to be more relaxed and have fun with it. When team practice rolled around, well, he's the toughest captain around.

After picking up a fair bit of speed and making it around the far hoops, Katherine finally slowed back down a little. Naturally, she figured that all should have been forgotten. Glancing back over her shoulder, she realized that he had probably allowed her some space. Just that thought made her smile. She wasn't sure if it was him being a generally good guy or if it had anything to do with knowing perfectly well that girls did need space sometimes and not giving it usually didn't have the best end results. Not that Kat really was like that...at least, she didn't think she was anyway.
"Care to toss the quaffle around?" she called back toward him, still continuing with her second lap but not nearly as fast as she'd done before. Katherine wasn't sure if he cared to or not considering she was a chaser for the Hufflepuff team (and a fellow captain) while he was Keeper for Gryffindor. Giving up skill secrets before the actual season began wasn't ever a good idea but Kat figured tossing around the quaffle was pretty harmless. It would be, anyway, if she left her competitive nature back on the stands and tried to just have fun with it.

Cooper continued to allow her to stay ahead of him. He looked the look from behind, as any other guy would. No, he wasn't perverted but, Coop did think that Kat was pretty, pretty darn hot. Still, if keeping his distance would score him a few points....No, you're thinking like a bloke! he scolded himself. Cooper knew when a girl needed space, after all he did have two younger sisters.
"Sure!" Cooper called to her enthusiastically. Tossing the quaffle around was harmless, and Coop always had his guard up. He had a pretty solid book of tactics. No, really - a book. He wrote it over the summer. Coop trusted Kat so, he didn't think that she was just trying to squeeze anything out of him. Well, at least not quidditch tactics. Cooper then realized that he better catch up with her, he had let her get pretty far ahead. Just to show off, Cooper leaned down against his broom handle and shot off, seconds lated, he was flying right next to her again. "Not trying to squeeze out any information from me, are you?' he said with his smirk, knowing that she wasn't He knew her well enough to be certain of it.

Katherine watched over her shoulder as he cut down on the wind resistance and started gaining speed rather rapidly. She was just about to mumble "right bloody show off" under her breath but he'd already managed to catch up to her again. As impressed as she was, Katherine Finnigan refused to say so simply because then he might wind up gloating about how "amazing and wonderful" he was. Instead, she teasingly rolled her eyes and made a face at him.
"Oh you know me so well, Cooper Weasley! It'll never cease to amaze me just how you figure out my every tactic and stay one step ahead," giggled Kat, rolling her eyes again and shaking her head, "How ever did you discover that the only reason I came out here was to size up the competition and connive important Quidditch information out of you? Am I really so transparent?!"
So what if she was being overly dramatic! Katherine couldn't help laughing a little before giving up her silly little act. Cooper really did know her quite well...even if she wouldn't exactly admit to that either. The more she thought about it, there were tons of things that she'd never willingly admit to the Weasley boy. It was almost enough to make her giggle even more but, instead, she gestured toward the Quidditch supplies shed and said, "I'll just pop down there and grab the quaffle then. Be back in a jiffy-pop." Without a second of hesitation, she veered off toward the small shed.

OK, yet again giggling. Coop didn't mind it, he just amazed himself at how many times a day he made girls giggle. Sometimes it took a joke, other times all he had to do was walk by a small group of them. "Oh, maybe it was one of the times we had under the bleachers.." Cooper replied, with a grin. They had never really done anything, other than the normal flirting every now and again. Although, if the oppurtunity came across, Cooper wouldn't pass it up.
Cooper nodded. He waited for Kat to return, flying low. Maybe she would ... nah, she probably likes some guy in her house. Besides, we friends - that flirt, alot. Cooper tossed around the idea of actually asking Katherine on a date. However, he didn't want to push his luck. Coop thought that Kat was rather beatiful. He thought all girls were, in their own unique ways. It's the reason why he flirts so much. He sighed, opting to now ask Kat, for now.

Taken aback by his statement, Katherine's eyes went wide. Even his grin made her question his comment as she headed for the supplies shed. "Dreaming about me again, Coop?" she called back in a cheeky tone, glancing over her shoulder at him before she reached the supply shed. Without even landing fully, she pulled her wand from her right sock. Yes, it took a little bit of maneuvering but she was a pretty capable flyer so it didn't seem like much to her. As Kat pointed her wand at the door, it opened and out came one of the raggedy old practice quaffles. With the discoloured ball tucked under her left arm, she kicked the door shut and stowed her wand away safely once more.
"Catch!" shouted Katherine as she flew directly toward Cooper and let the quaffle gracefully roll out of her hand toward him. His flirty little statement had already been pushed to the back of her mind. After all, Kat knew how he was. Cooper Weasley was a serious flirt...and a professional at it, to boot. Even if he did think there was one girl out there for him, Katherine knew that most of the things to come out of his mouth couldn't be taken too seriously. It'd only taken her a year or two of being friends with him for her to figure that out.

Cooper missed her reply to his comment. He had begun daydreaming while waiting for her. That was odd of him to do. Cooper almost never day dreamed, especially when he was on a broom no less. Still, he thoughts dwelled momentarily on Katherine.
Cooper had barely been paying attention, until he realized a quaffle was coming after him. He brought himself back to reality, just in time to make the catch. He had to rise up in the air a bit to do it but, he did with complete control, making it appear that he had been paying attention.

At first, it almost looked like he hadn't noticed her throw it but Kat watched him rise up after the quaffle only seconds later and make the catch look easy. Very quitely, under her breath, she jokingly mumbled, "Show off." Not that she'd been expecting much less from the always magnificent Cooper Weasley. Though the bit of practicing was supposed to be laid back and fun, she was pretty sure that there'd be a couple of very show-offy moves made by each of them.
"Well then..." Kat urged cheerfully, flying around him with a grin. She was in a particularly good mood at the moment and there was no questioning why. Quidditch always put her in an amazing mood but it was even better today because she was getting a chance to play a "less than competitive" game with one of her dearest friends. There was probably only one person, outside of relatives, that she'd known for longer than Cooper and only one or two whom she considered better friends.
Thinking about it for a moment or two, she asked, "Shall I play a little Keeper and let you have a go at Chaser for a while then? You know...for sake of hiding those super top secret skills of yours a secret." Katherine had played a little bit of everything, minus, of course, Seeker, so she had no worries with playing a position that wasn't her natural place.

Cooper grinned after making his catch. Sure, he was showing off, when wasn't he when he was on a broom. There was no doubt that Cooper had the talent, it was there, he just liked to flaunt what he has. No harm in that, besides it always drew the girls. Coop didn't let himself appear to self-centered because he really wasn't - unless you asked his sisters or borther. You can never count on siblings to say something good all the time.
Cooper hovered, tossing the quaffle around in his hands, retaining perfect balance for not holding on. He was grinng as well, just waiting for the perfect moment to toss it. Coop wanted to try and throw Katherine off. It was a bit hard because they knew each other so well, however, this was different. It was quidditch and they didn't know all of each others moves in that area.
Cooper chuckled, "Hm, yes wouldn't want you to spill out my secrets to your team. It would be awfully embarassing to loose to your team," he joked. He liked the change now and again. During practices such as this, Coop didn't mind moving about positions. He did pretty well as a Chaser and Beater. Coop was a terrible seeker though, he's best was of course, Keeper. That's why he was one. "So, that's yes then."

Katherine flew around a little and waited for him to do or say something. Watching and waiting, she observed the grin on his face as he tossed the quaffle around. She knew him well enough to know that he intended to catch her off her guard but she didn't know exactly what he planned to do once he had. Would he throw it far off so she had to go after it? Would he fly at her and let it go? Kat had no idea what to expect. That, perhaps, was one of the best things about Quidditch. She loved the idea of having to react fast. What made it even more interesting was to play with someone whom she'd known for ages but still couldn't expect his every move.
"Trust me, Coop, if I did know all of your Quidditch secrets, I don't know if I'd share them with my whole team. Now...that's not to say I won't use them against you," she giggled softly, her big brown eyes watching him intently. Oddly enough, she wondered what, exactly, Cooper was thinking about. She pondered if the only thing on his mind was just this little practice or if he was still thinking other things as well. Kat wasn't sure why she was thinking about such things but she assured herself that it was merely part of her strategy. Perhaps, if she knew what was going on in his head, she could be perfectly prepared for everything.
Heading off toward the far goals, she kept dwelling upon her curiosity. Then she was hit with another thought; a far less pleasant thought. Instead of letting this one linger, she shook her head and directed her full attention back to Cooper and the quaffle. "All ready then Weasley?" she called, smiling brightly to mask the fact that she was thinking about anything besides Quidditch
