"Well if you did, I would know to thank at least." Cooper said with a wide smile. He took his time flying over to the goal hoops. His mind wandered a bit, thinking of a way to throw Katherine off. Meh, that was just mean. He didn't want to embarass her, too much. Besides he wasn't here to show off, just to have a friendly practice with a good friend. A good friend who he flirted with, a lot, and showed off for.
"Always ready, love." Cooper called to her. He flew back and forth, up and down, and around the hoops a few minutes. His plan was to keep Kat confused as to where he might try to throw the quaffle. Coop went in front of each the the three hoops, finally decided on which one to throw at. After a bit more tatical flying about he gave the quaffle a hard throw toward the far left hoop, with pretty good aim.

Laughing, she shook her head in an amused manner. He could always make her laugh...whether it was with him or at him. Kat methodically roved back and forth in front of all three hoops as she waited for him to do something...anything. Watching was always the most tedious part of it. Watching and contemplating what was going to happen next. In professional matches, there was hardly any chance to think before reacting. Even at times during school matches, there were moments that one just reacted off of pure instinct.
Her eyes followed his every moment as she continued to patrol her hoops. For a brief moment, she could swear she was able to read his expression well enough to know perfectly where he was going to throw the quaffle. Lingering a little longer toward the centre hoop, she watched his hands and his face. If one could read expressions, it did make things easier. Unfortunately, some people didn't have a tell. Even worse, Kat had misread Cooper. As she watched the raggedy ball leave his hands, she made a sharp move toward it only to have the quaffle hit the tips of her fingers. She'd deflected it but not nearly enough to keep it out of the hoop.
Grumbling to herself, she muttered a few curse words under her breath as she retrieved the quaffle. "Good one Weasley. Guess I'm a little rusty at Keeper," she admitted, throwing it back to him

Cooper watched as his quaffle toss moved to the hoop. He thought that Katherin got in, but just barely. The quaffle stil went throught the hoop. This cause a wide grin to spread across his face. He took a small bow, the best he could, being on a broom. To tease her even furthur, Cooper made a noise, imitating a cheering crowd. He only could do it for a few moments before breaking out in a laugh.
"Thanks," Cooper said as he caught the quaffle. "No worries, love. It's not easy being a Keeper. I may make it look like a piece of cake but, it's far from it. I'll go easy on you," he said with a wink. Cooper never got tired of joking around with her, or anyone else. It was his nature, it couldn't be avoided. Especially in situations like this. It gave him the perfect opportunity to say something witty or something. He threw the quaffle another time, this time to center hoop, not trying to trick Katherine or anything this time. Cooper was sure she'd catch this one.

Kat groaned and tried to ignore the teasing and taunting from the Gryffindor boy. It wasn't that she hadn't been expecting him to gloat like mad but her competitive nature was getting the better of her the more he laughed and cheered for himself. Being overly competitive was exactly the thing that she didn't want to happen. Sometimes, however, she simply couldn't control herself when it came to taking Quidditch very seriously...even if it was just a fun game with Coop.
"Don't you dare play easy on me Cooper Weasely," she grumbled, even with him winking. It was a sweet sentiment and she might've enjoyed it if he offered to be easy on her for something other than Quidditch...but never, ever did she want someone to play easy on her when it came to the main thing she prided herself on. Trying to pick her wounded pride up off the grass, she was even more methodical with her flying around the hoops. Katherine wasn't going to judge his expressions this time. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me, she thought eyeing him suspiciously. As the quaffle left his hands this time, she rolled her eyes and stopped it with ease.
This time, unlike before, she threw it back to him much harder and added, "C'mon Coop...rusty or not, please don't play easy on me. Make me work for it...just like I intend to do to you." Oddly enough, after she finished speaking, Kat smirked this time and gave him a very quick, subtle wink. She wasn't a huge flirt but she did have her moments...especially around Cooper. It was a little strange but he always did bring that bit of her out.

"Oh alright." Cooper said. He really wanted to give her tough time and at the same time he wanted to give it to her easy. Still, it was good practice for the both of them. Katherine was out here to really practice, where as Cooper hadn't intended on it. "Oh, if you don't make get easy, I might break a nail." Cooper added a joke, in a girly voice.
Cooper decided that he'd give her his best shot as Chaser. He was sure he'd get what was coming to him when they switched spots. He flew around the goal posts a few times, thinking of some ways to challenge her. "You know, I can't really test you if I don't have that," Cooper said, pointing to the quaffle she hadn't thrown back to him yet.
ooc; sorry, writer's block.

"I'd hate to see your pretty little fingernails broken," teased Katherine with a grin, "But I know a brill place we can get them all fixed up. I bet they could do something for your hair as well." There was absolutely nothing wrong with Cooper's hair but that didn't mean she couldn't play with him a little. After all, he'd started it in the first place and she was merely going with the flow of things. Shaking her head, she laughed softly and recalled the quaffle from where it had landed, just passed him.
Watching as Cooper flew around the goal posts, she tossed the raggedy ball up in the air and let it fall back down into her hands. He hadn't seemed prepared for her to throw it to him so she tossed it back and forth for a moment or two. When the finally suggested that she throw it back to him, she threw the quaffle up into the air and let it fall just far enough for her to do a bit of showing off as she hit it back to him with the end of her broom. So what if she was being a little silly. She really did want him to have a good go rather than playing easy on her.
{ooc: no worries...I know how that goes}

{ooc; sorry it took me so long to reply i got busy with Easter.}
"What's wrong with my hair? Coop asked, running a hand through it. "Maybe it needs a little growing out.. he said thoughtfully. A one point in time, Cooper had grown out his hair. He didn't like it because he actually had to brush it. He hated that sort of maintenance, so he liked his hair short. All it needed was a dab of hair gel and he was pretty as a flower.
Cooper was beginning to thing that Kat would never throw the quaffle. When she did, he hadn't been expecting something fancy, although he should have. It flew past him, he had reached out to catch it but, it brushed past his fingertips. "Darn," he muttered and then shot off to retrieve the quaffle before it reached the ground. Coop caught up to the speeding ball and then flipped his broom end over end to end up in front of the ball and catch it. He made it look easy. Coop had been practicing that for some time now, and was grinning when he pulled it off.
He then paused a moment, tucking the quaffle under his arm before darting toward the goal post at a fast speed. He thought that maybe he'd give her a little scare. So, Coop speed toward Katherine, he eyes locked on her. He never looked away from her as he got closer and closer. Finally, he was so close that if he came any further he'd run into her. At the last second, he pulled up his broom, and tossing the quaffle into the highest goal post while flying upward in the sky. He flew up and then turned around to come back down to goal post level to see Katherine's reaction. Coop had a wide grin on his face, thinking he got the goal.

Katherine's soft giggle was accompanied by a light shake of the head as Cooper actually asked what was wrong with his hair and admitted, thoughtfully even, that there might be a potential issue with it. She'd actually been expecting him to go on about how perfect his hair was and how entirely jealous others were or how much guys would give up to have amazing hair like his. Perhaps Coop Weasley wasn't 99% ego like he usually let on. Not that it mattered much if he was since Kat didn't think a single thing about him needed changed. He was as near enough to perfect just the way he was. Again, something she would never exactly admit to him straight out.
As the quaffle zipped passed Cooper's fingertips, Kat's eyes lit up just a little. In fact, she made a serious mental note for later after seeing that he had to go after the raggedy old ball. Her chocolate brown eyes took in every careful maneuver the Gryffindor boy made in his pursuit of the quaffle and she wasn't surprised to see that he just had to make a very show-offy move at the very end. The way he was grinning, though, sort of made it seem like he was only half expecting to pull it off so well. As such, Kat decided to give him a major ego boost by applauding...even though she wanted to laugh.
Her silly gesture was short lived, however, because he wasted no time in heading straight for her and the goals. The way he seemed so focused and was speeding so rapidly toward her without even a hint of hesitation gave it the feel of a good old fashioned show-down. Who would flinch first? Letting her competitive nature kick in, Katherine kept her ground and awaited whatever move he was going to make. If he crashed into her, she was going to make it at least worth a good trip to hospital with some contusions and maybe a fracture or two...for both of them. Even if he was bigger and physically stronger, she was still a force to be reckoned with and she knew it.
Closer and closer still Cooper's broom kept coming...and, yet, Katherine remained right where she was. Even she had to admit that her pulse had increased and she had that silly little nervous feeling in the very depths of her stomach but she refused to let it show just then. In her mind, she was in game mode. Show no fear and no doubt. At the absolute last second, she nearly felt like moving but it was a good thing she hadn't because he let the quaffle go. Her only mistake was that she gave a quick glance upward, toward Cooper Weasley, before darting off toward the pale red ball. Again, her fingertips felt the ball as it deflected but only enough to hit the side of the goal and bounce through...much to her dismay.
With a soft groan, she flew down after the quaffle and ripped it out of the air with a scowl. It wasn't so much that Katherine Finnigan was a poor loser...except that it was. Her father had taught her to always be the best. Well, technically, in his eyes, she was the best and always would be but that didn't mean Kat wasn't disappointed in herself whenever she was feeling really competitive and failed at something. Sucking up her pride, she held the ball firmly under her right arm and half-heartedly shouted, "Nice move there Coop. Maybe you shoulda been a chaser."
{ooc: It's alright. That's a pretty big holiday and most people usually get busy over it. No worries :]}

Cooper made a sharp turn, rounding back just to see his toss make it through the goal. Again, he flailed his arms in the air again, imitating crowd cheers for a moment. With a large grin, he flew down to Katherine's level. "Me? A Chaser?" He replied. He couldn't be a chaser. He liked the showing off bit, and in a real game he wouldn't be able to do that very well. Not with bludgers and players trying to hit you. Nope, he'd rather be a little safer by the goals. Not many bludgers come his way - angry players yes, but those were easy to get rid off.
"No, I love being a Keeper way to much to be a Chaser, not to mention better at it. Besides, I didn't become Captain for being a great Chaser, I became Captain because I'm an amazing Keeper and all around team player." Cooper said, with a small grin only. There was an instance when he did take a few for the team. Those ones kinda hurt, from what he could remember at least. "Care to have another go, or shall we switch?"

Kat was glad that Coop hadn't decided to gloat much more than he had the first time. He could have honestly been so much worse but he hadn't and she was sincerely greatful for that. Surely he had to have known just how horrible a loser she was...so maybe that was the reasoning. Whatever it was, though, she was indebted. But, again, this was one of those things she'd keep to herself...at least for now anyway.
Tossing the quaffle up and letting it fall back down into her hands, she nodded in understanding. "Indeed. Well, from the persepective of a chaser and a fellow captain, I still say you'd do decent enough in the position," she said, finding herself giving him a very small and almost unnoticible wink as she tossed the quaffle back to him. Did Katherine Finnigan flirt? Rarely. Was she at that moment? That was something even she didn't really think about as she flew around the goal posts a moment. "I'll take one more good go at it, I think. Unless, of course, you'd really like to switch."

"Ah, love, isn't that sweet. I would probably do horribly, though. I like having moments of having to do absolutely nothing." Cooper replied. That was of course, a joke. In fact, during a game Cooper watched it intensely. He took mental notes about his team and the others. These notes he used for the next practice and his post-fame speech. "I'll make you work for it," Cooper said, with a wink. Although he doubted if she saw it or not.
Catching the quaffle, Cooper flew around in little circles. Purposefully, he made himself dizzy. He wanted to see if he could make a goal with the posts swirling around. Coop was just being silly really. But, still you never what you have to do in quidditch. So, after a few moments of rapid spinning, he stopped. He saw twice as many goals posts ahead of him, and three blurry visions of Katherine. Three beautiful visions in his mind. With a not so skillful throw, Cooper threw the quaffle towards a hoop, no knowing if it was really there or not

Rolling her eyes, Katherine laughed at his statement. From a captain's perspective, she knew that there was never a moment when you weren't doing something or other. If it was playing offense, playing defense, making mental notes, helping your teammates or just praying that your team could recover from a particularly nasty setback. Sometimes, though, one was stuck doing a bit of everything all at the same time. Anyone who played knew that but team captains knew even better. After all, they were responsible for everyone and everything during practices and matches.
Kat giggled as she watched Cooper flying around and around. It was certain that he was going to make himself terribly dizzy but she naturally figured that he was attempting to show off again. After all, he'd said he would make her work for it. As he stopped, she prepared herself for whatever he had up his sleeve. Quite unfortunately, he threw the quaffle but it was somewhat too far right to even make it into the far left hoop. As it headed for just between two hoops, Katherine went after it and stopped the ball short.
"Oye! What was that Weasley?!" she interrogated, eyeing him to make sure he wasn't so dizzy that he'd fall off his broom. She didn't want to have to rescue him but if he was that incredibly dizzy then she'd have to. When it all came down to it, he was one of her best friends and what would be the good of letting a best friend plummet to his utter demise just because he was showing off?

Cooper had to wait several minutes before he could answer Katherine. He remembered that he was suppose to have made that a hard one, like he said. Oops, he just forgot about that tiny detail. He waited until the pitch stopped spinning before her answered. "That was me, being silly." he said, shrugging it off.
Coop really had no clue why he did it, he just did. That was a theme that tended to account for many of his weird, unusal, and stupid actions. It was just one of those moments that made him unique. "Sorry, love. I know I said I'd make it hard. Can you ever find the room to forgive me?" he asked, with the usual hint of humour.

Again, Katherine found herself laughing lightly at Cooper. He had a knack for always amusing her...even after he'd gone and done the exact oppostie of what he said he was going to. Perhaps that was one of the things she adored most about him. He was just plain silly but in the good sort of way. Sometimes, even, his random goofy-ness was rather cute. Not that she'd flat out admit it since his ego would probably grow exponentially if she did.
"Cooper Weasley," she laughed softly, "You are just too much sometimes. But, yes, I suppose I can find it in my heart to forgive you, you silly boy." It was days like this that actually made Katherine wonder how she'd gotten so lucky to have amazing friends like Coop. Shaking her head in amusement, she flew somewhat closer to the Weasley boy. "So then, did you want to continue playing around or would you care to do something else Mister...er...Minister Weasley," she asked, adding that last bit on just to tease a bit

Cooper smiled. He was always glad that he made others laugh. It was always his goal, to make people laugh or at least smile. He seemed to have the knack for it. Coop had the theory that laughter cures all so, he acted silly to get people to either laugh at him, or with him. His ego preferred the latter but, he would take what he could get. He just felt all warm and fuzzy when he saw that his humour had a good effect on others.
"Well, th - hey," Cooper stared and then paused. He hadn't caught on to the Minister bit right away. "See? Doesn't Minister Weasley have a nice ring to it?" he said with a grin. "Well, I know one thing else I'd like to do...." he trailed off, a smirk across his face. "But...I don't think you'll want to do that something else, well - with me at least. So, I suppose it's your turn to show off."
Coop had to throw in the bit about the something else. He had no doubt that Katherine would figure it out. She was smart girl. A smart, beautiful girl. Then again, Coop thought all girls were pretty. Some just showed it more than others. He held a high opinion and respect for the opposite sex. Cooper was also sure that Katherine had her eyes set on someone other than himself. He had better success with the younger crowds in that department. Most of the times both of his sisters' friends would be swooning over him in the halls. Coop didn't mind the attention, he loved it - most of the time.
