Katherine burst out in a whole new fit of giggles at the idea of a student actually firting with professors at the school. Not only was the idea hilarious but just imagining sitting through class and having a fellow student practically throwing themselves at the potions master was beyond just funny. It was even more funny when Lucinda said that she could see herself doing the very thing. Kat found it so amusing.
"I don't know why any sane girl would go so far as to willingly flirt with a professor," she giggled, shaking her head. Instinctively, she lifted her hands up to tighten her ponytail again. Deciding to switch the topic, she casually inquired, "So then...tell me about this boyfriend you'd have to convince. Is he the incredibly possessive type that would naturally assume you were cheating with the professor?"

Lucinda laughed a little. "No he's not possessive. or controling, might I add. He's in Slytherin and he doesn't like many other's He likes picking on the others and all but I'm the only one that can control him. That's what brought me and him together. Me and him joke around but are totally in love. He's nice, sweet, and caring. He's practically the best guy you could want in a relationship."

Katherine listened to what Lucinda had to say about her boyfriend. He did sound like a charming sort of guy but only to a Slytherin girl. It sort of made Kat wonder how those sorts of things worked out. Shrugging it off, she got more comfortable in the grass and gazed up at the sky in a very content sort of mood. It really was the most perfect day for this sort of just chatting and relaxing.
"I'm really happy for you. It's hard to find guys that don't get possessive or controlling these days and you seem very happy and in love with him," she said with a warm smile. Katherine usually was happy whenever her friends were and this was one of those instances.

Lucinda said, "He likes being in control of others but not me. It's always been that way. He lets me be in control, sometimes its weird not having a controlling boyfriend other times its perfectly fine."Lucinda smiled and said, "Do you have a boyfriend or have your eyes on anyone?"

"Ah, well, I can imagine how different it might be to realize that your boyfriend really isn't very controlling. Especially if he is over everyone else," commented Katherine thoughtfully. She could only imagine what it would be like to have someone always trying to control her but then came to the realization that her mother was usually the one doing that anyway. It was almost funny.
Thinking about it a moment, she replied, "I actually don't have a boyfriend. I haven't either...but I'm sure my father would just go mental if I ever did anyway. Even though I'm of age and all, he's still quite protective of his little girl. And, as far as having my eye on anyone, I don't really know to be honest. There aren't very many boys in seventh year...at least not many who would even give me the time of day."

"Thats when you go beyond Hogwarts to look." Lucinda said with a smirk. "Boys are out there waiting. Just have to go at them." Lucinda laughed a little and said sometimes you have to put your foot down cause the boys won't."

Katherine laughed lightly and shook her head. The idea of going out to look for boys seemed ludicrous and not like something that Kat was keen on doing. First of all, she was extremely timid around people whom she didn't know so the idea of trying to talk to random boys was pretty much completely out of the question. Secondly, Katherine Finnigan didn't do too well with "putting her foot down." Maybe it was because she was a Hufflepuff or maybe it was for some other reason. Either way, it just didn't happen.
Sighing softly, she replied, "Trust me, I think I'd have a hard enough time trying to make friendly with boys here at Hogwarts. Going outside the castle to look for boys just isn't going to happen. Chances are that I'll probably just wind up solo for the rest of my life...not that it's entirely a bad thing though...I don't think so anyways."

"True. So true. But sometimes having someone is always good." Lucinda said. "No fighting, or late for dates. Thats the upside. Needing someone to just hold you and whip away the tears that you cry. Thats the downside for being single."

"I just...I have enough of a hard time trying to talk to people I really don't know so it would be impossible for me to try talking to a boy who I was interested in. I haven't ever really put too much thought into the subject because I know I'm way too shy to start talking to boys," Katherine confided sincerely. She knew her limits and Kat wasn't the sort to try out things she knew she couldn't do. There was that and the fact that she always underestimated herself.
Sitting up straight again, Kat looked out over the lake as she thought about it. The very last time she'd discussed the topic of boys, she'd become extremely uncomfortable with herself and tried to become someone who she wasn't. That was the last thing she wanted to happen. Katherine Finnigan was fine with who she was, even if she did think less of herself from time to time, and she figured that if the right boy came along, they'd hit it off straight away...at least that was what she hoped.

"Don't feel bad not everyone is up and go with the boys. I'm just whats the word I'm looking for?" Lucinda said as she scratched her head. She went deep into thought trying to find a suitable word. Slut wasn't it nor was Whore." She continued to think and gave a small shriek and said, "I give up. thinking is my worst enemy."

Katherine didn't really feel too bad about not being the most capable of talking to boys about anything besides Quidditch and sport. Kat truly was her father's daughter in that she was very capable of talking for ages about sport and she wasn't half bad at a few either but just not good enough to make her house team or any national teams for anything. So as far as that went, she could talk to boys for hours upon hours...but anything else and it just wasn't going to happen.
"Is 'friendly' the word you were looking for?" Kat suggested, hoping to help her friend come up with a word that worked for what she was. Though Katherine wasn't the absolute most intelligent student in Hogwarts, she did have a knack for thinking and knowing things...not always the exact thing but she did try.

"I really don't know." Lucinda said laughing. She fliped her hair from her face and said, "I'm a dumb blonde. I'm not bright with anything other than school work." After a moment she put her shoes and socks back on and said, "I love my red and black striped socks their so sexy." She then burst out laughing.

Laughing lightly, Katherine shook her head in an amused manner. She watched as her Slytherin friend put her socks and then shoes back on. They really were interesting compared to the plain ones than the socks and shoes Kat was currently wearing. Her shoes were plain white and the socks she had on were a light shade of green with an Irish shamrock just near the top. They were actually a present from her uncle Fergus. He always bought her the strangest little things just because.
"Oye! Now that was random," giggled Kat of her friend's comment. She'd never heard of socks being sexy but it made her laugh all the same. Shaking her head again, she tried to control her giggles and asked, "And what, might I ask, makes them so very appealing?"

"I don't know probably because you can wear them with anything if the colors are appropriate. I even have hot pink and black striped ones." Lucinda said, "Trust me I have a strange wardrobe. Consisting of lots of stripes, plaids, and solids. and polka dots. Which are awesomesauce. And no I am not smoking any sort of drugs nor have I been drinking....Ok I did have 3 firewhiskey's earlier but thats our secret. Lastly I am not wasted."

Lucinda's wardrob really did sound quite interesting compared with that of Katherine's. Kat wore a lot of sport jerseys, t-shirts and jeans when she wasn't clad in her school attire. Sometimes, even, she'd just stick to her warm-ups or sweats rather than wearing all sorts of colours and fashions. It was her own little way of rebelling against her mum AND keeping with the part of being her father's daughter all at the same time.
"Oye! Firewhiskey?! THREE of them?!" Kat gasped, her mouth dropping open. Even though she was over the legal age limit for all sorts of things, including using magic outside of school and drinking, she simply couldn't fathom having three firewhiskey's. Merlin! She'd only ever tried it once and drinking really wasn't her thing.
