"A hair shortening charm, huh? If it isn't permanent, that would be wicked cool to make my hair neon green and a little shorter than shoulder length," Katherine thought out loud. As she spoke, the Hufflepuff imainged how it would look and was quite impressed. It was an appearance that would surely make her mum go mental...which was all she couldh hope for really.
Laughing lightly, she added, "I really don't want to be the mastermind behind things...but transfiguring people into dancing monkeys in striped suits that do the hokey pokey would be quite interesting..." Kat knew the spell to make someone dance (willing or unwilling) and it wasn't even one of those unforgivable things either. And a simple transfiguration spell certainly wouldn't get someone into trouble.

Lucinda nodded and said, "Well doing that would be perfect for a temporary razor cut. Angle the bangs and whack it up a bit put some gel and hairspray to hold it in place would look wicked cool. But its your body so you can decide on whatever I'm just throwing ideas at you." She laughed.

"Trust me, I'm loving some of your ideas...just like I'm sure my mum will hate them," she giggled with an enthusiastic smile upon her face. Kat really did like the idea of changing things up a bit...but she didn't want to look way too far off from her regular self. Just enough to get a rise out of her mother and have a little fun. That was really all she needed.
Thinking about it a little more, she nodded and went on to say, "If you think it'll look wicked cool then that's what we'll do. I'll complete trust your fashion judgement on this one..."

"Well I have a weird fashion sense. You'll never know what I'll come up with." Lucinda said with a small laugh. She put her hair back into a messy bun and said, "I swear I could litterally fall asleep here and now." She laughed and said, "Thats why I hate rainy days. makes me sleepy. Do you know how bad that is in classes? Have teacher yelling at you for cat napping. When its not really your fault storms calm you."

Katherine was almost the exact opposite of Lucinda when it came to storms. Something about them made her want to be outside doing things like jogging or flying in the rain. It was strange but she just adored the force behind driving rain and rolling thunder. Snow storms, on the other hand, she found to be a little boring. But it only ever snowed during the very middle of winter...and sometimes not even then.
"I don't think I could ever sleep through a really good storm. They always seem to make me more hyper and giddy for some reason," she admitted honestly, "But I suppose I'm just really weird like that though."

"Well I don't know why but I like cat napping during storms. They calm me. make me sleepy. I hear the rolls of thunder and I yawn. As the rain beats down from the sky I get sleepy. With the lightning I fall silent." Lucinda said laughing. Its rediculous at how easy I can fall asleep in a rain storm. Sometimes a weakness. Sometimes good if you lacked sleep the night before." Lucinda finished.

"We're pretty much complete opposites then, when it comes to storms. I can sleep through one if it's late...but, otherwise, I usually get pretty energetic," Kat confessed with a bright smile. Though they were different, storms could also be considered one of her weaknesses as well...but in a completely out of the ordinary sort of way. But that was a whole other discussion topic.
Leaning her head back against the wall, Katherine brought the bottle of butterbeer to her lips and took another small drink of the delightful liquid. "So then...shall we find something else to do so that you don't wind up passed out sleeping on the kitchen floor?" she asked, working out what else they could do in the castle

"Ya sure. But I don't know what there is to do. I am really brain dead today." Lucinda said with a sigh, "I normally just find something random to do. Its part of me. Being random. Random like. I dunno Random like a popcicle." She laughed and said, "So are my terms of metaphores. To random for my own good. Its odd really. Well odd to me anyways. I don't know obout others."

Katherine giggled at just how random Lucinda's randomness was. It wasn't exactly odd but it was quite unique and certainly did make things much more interesting than normal. Taking another drink from her butterbeer, Kat sat it down on the counter and hopped down from where she was sitting. It might have seemed like stalling so that she didn't have to say anything but, really, what she was doing was thinking.
"Random. Random...hmmm...I suppose we could always wander through the corridors until something random pops up," she suggested thoughtfully, "Since it's pretty hard to plan random, we'd sort of have to wait for it to make its grand appearance."

"Sounds good to me. Lets go!" Lucinda said and headed towards the door. She walked out and headed up towards the upper floors. Maybe something would pop up there. she didn't know. She could always play kick filtch and his cat and team up with Peeves to annoy the caretaker but she wasn't sure yet. Maybe she would go around and make peoples clothes turn into dresses. Or make them look like pecocks.

Following behind Lucinda, Katherine finished off her drink and disposed of the bottle properly so that the house elves didn't have to clean up after her. As they exited, she took a glance around to see if there was anything amusing or worth their time in the cellars. Nothing. Up the first set of stairs and still there was nothing amusing or even slightly distracting. Surely most of the other students were hidden away in their warm common rooms or still in bed.
As she hit the bottom of the second floor stairs, Kat noticed that the staircase toward the fourth floor was moving. It gave her an idea. "I wonder how long we could stay on a moving staircase, that doesn't stop mind you, without getting ill..." she thought out loud. Katherine figured that if she could get the staircase to keep going around and around, it would be sort of like a ride.
