A late night chat (Evie)

Gabriel had found himself wandering the halls of hogwarts yet again and had somehow made his way to the northern tower. He was sitting on the window seal his forehead pressed against the glass. Ever since he kissed Evie he hadn't been able to get his mind off of it and was constantly stuck on the thought of it. He had come up here in hopes of taking his mind off of it by looking at the stars but it wasn't working.

Evelyn looked at the clock. "12:32..." She muttered. She nodded and picked up her bag. She wanted to send an owl to her little brother telling him about the project she and Kat worked on. She sighed deeply before getting up and walking out the common room. She walked through the corridors slowly, not noticing that she took a wrong turn. Somehow she ended up in the North Tower. She groaned as she looked around. She spotted Gabriel and gasped. As she turned to walk away, her bag got caught on the door handle and everything came toppling out. Her ink spilled all over her parchment. She groaned and bent down to pick it up. "Shit..." She muttered.

Gabriel didn't even notice Evie had entered the room until after everything had fallen out of her bag. Gabriel quickly turned his head to see who had disturbed his pace, he was surprised to see that it was Evie. "Why are you out so late?" Gabriel asked getting up from his seat and walking over to her. Gabriel started to help her pick up her items, he carefully placed them back in the bag being careful not to break anything.

Evie blushed. "Im sorry for bothering you. I didnt mean to... I wa trying to get to The Owlery... Being half-asleep while walking through Hogwarts isnt a very good idea I guess..." She laughed nervously. "I have to send my little brother an owl." She pulled out her wand and began to, almost carelessly, wave it making everything clear up. When everything was back in her bag, she picked it up. "Uhmm... Thank you." She said softly. "I'll leave you alone if you want to be alone..." She said turning away.

"No, it's ok. I was actually thinking about going to go talk to you any way, we can make a quick trip to the owlery and talk on the way there." Gabriel suggested, he wanted her to send what ever she needed to but he wanted to talk to her about something. The sooner he got to talk to her the better. Gabriel opened the door and held it open for her just in case she agreed to take a small trip to the owlery.

Evie smiled and walked through the door. "Yeah. I have to get this to him so he can be ready to help tomorrow." She waited for him to close the door then began to walk. "So why are you up so late anyway? Wandering the school past hours is against the rules." She joked. "What did you want to talk about?" She asked. Stop asking so many questions Evie! Just shut up and let him answer! She thought to herself. So she shut up and waited for him to answer.

"I came up here because I couldn't catch any sleep, I was to busy think about the other day. I wanted to ask you about that, I know it's only been a few days for you to think but.......we'll I was wondering if you wouldn't mind going out with me. I haven't been able to get you out of my had for days and I just wanted to ask you." Gabriel said with a slightly nervous smile. He nervously awaited her reply as he walked next to her, he hoped she would say yes but he could only wait and see.

Evelyn listened to him answer her questions and she immediately regretted asking him what he'd wanted to talk about. Oh shit Evie.... What about Remus...? She thought to herself. She walked in silence for a while, having a mental battle with herself. She thought for a long time, walking in complete silence. When they made it to the Owlery, she woke up from her trance-like state and looked at Gabriel. "I dont know Gabriel... Im still really confused... Part of me is asking about Remus... But... the other part of me is screaming yes to you... I just... I dunno..." She turned away from him and pulled out the letter to her brother. She called her owl and attached the letter to his letter. She muttered the address to the owl and sent it on its way.

Evie kept her back to him for a moment longer then turned back to him. "Im confused Gabriel... But..." She shrugged. "I... Why is this so hard...?" She leaned against the wall, then slide down the wall to the floor. "You must hate me for this... For making you wait and wonder... Damnit...." She sighed deeply. She motioned for him to sit with her. "Gabriel... Please come here....?"

Gabriel sat down next to her and gave her a reassuring smile. "It's ok, I know it can be heard to chose. One was your proclaimed crush and the other was the one that just came in at random. Besides I'm willing to wait for you no matter your answer." Gabriel said, he really liked Evie and didn't care who she chose as long as he was able to be around her. Of course he would rather be her boyfriend but it wasn't that serous to him.

Evie smiled. "You are totally not a typical Slytherin... I kinda wish you'd force me to make a decision..." She sighed and looked at him. "You know what? Screw Remus. He's such a egotistical ass sometimes." She shook her head. "I choose you Gabriel. Remus has had time... No way am I gonna wait forever for some stupid guy when theres a nicer, funnier, better guy right here asking me out!" She took a deep breathe, relived to let all that out. "I wanna go out with you Gabriel and I will.... if... the offer's still open..." She smiled bashfully at him.

"I know and I'm proud of it. Well I just can't bring myself to do it, I want you to be happy." Gabriel said. When Gabriel heard that Evie was going to give up on Remus and go with him he did a mental yell of joy and had a quick little party in his mind. "The offer still stands." Gabriel said with a smile before kissing Evie gently on the lips. "I'm a really funnier then him?" Gabriel asked jokingly before he kissed her again.

Evie smiled and nodded. "He hasnt really said anything funny to me yet... Or anything that wasnt a come-on." She shrugged then kissed him back. "So happy to have that off my chest..." She yawn a small yawn and rested her head on his shoulder. "One question.... Why are you a Slytherin?" She asked curiously. She tucked some hair behind her ear and pulled the hood on the sweater over her head. "You dont fit in the Slytherin categories... Thank Merlin...."

"So his that kind of guy, I use to be that way until I figured out that is the complete opposite of what you want to do to get a girl's attention." Gabriel said with a laugh. "I think I was placed in Slytherin cause somebody up there hates me or because my life would be worse if I hadn't been, which reminds me. We can't let my sister Andrea find out about this, she'll go tell mommy dearest and well...." Gabriel said not bothering to finish the sentence, he was sure she got the point.

[Evelyn Thomas]

Evie nodded. "No problem. It's fine. The only person that'll know is my best friend Kat Finnigan.. and she's not much of a talker...I swear..." She grinned. "Sorry...but... I tell her everything..." She blushed slightly. She smiled. "We dont have to keep it a secret from the owls.... do we?" She asked, looking around at all the different owls. "They wont tell a soul..." She said before kissing his lips.

"It's fine with me as long as Andrea doesn't find out." Gabriel said and smiled back a slight blush visible on his face. "I don't see why we should." Gabriel said with a laugh placed a hand on Evie's leg. Gabriel kissed her back and gave her a warm smile right after, he was enjoying this moment more then he though possible. He didn't want this moment to ever end.
