"For future reference, I'll just say that I don't need boys then," she laughed lightly, "Massive pieces of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and strawberries...followed by hours and hours of Quidditch practice to burn off the calories. That's my idea of heaven right there." Giving a dreamy sort of sigh, just for added effect, Katherine stuck some more of the delightful dish into her mouth and set her fork down on the plate. Of course, her ideal picture of heaven also had her living in Ireland, somewhere near her grandmum, and playing professional Quidditch for the Irish National team as well.
Leaning back in her chair a little, she smiled contently. Her every thought now lingering on happy things and her senses taken over by just how delicious the chocolate cake was, Katherine Finnigan was in a brilliant mood now. Everything that had irritated or angered her had gone completely forgotten for the sake of her dessert. Piercing a strawberry, that had been drizzled conveniently with chocolate sauce, Kat broke off another piece of cake and stuck the two into her mouth. After setting her fork aside, she carefully cleaned off her lips so that her face wasn't a mess.

Lucinda continued eating her cake and scooped icing up with the moist cake to add more flavor. Sitting her fork down she took a drink of her milk and said, "Girl one day A guy will come around and you'll be in love. You can't avoid men forever." She took a bite of cake and said, "There is a mr. right for you. he just hasn't showed up yet"

"I don't have to avoid them. Guys can't stand girls who intimidate them...and this is where I come in," Kat giggled, "Beat their arses at Quidditch...tell better jokes...pull wicked good pranks on them. No need to avoid them at all. Oh, and then there's the fact that my daddy dearest will probably near enough to murder any guy who does come around. So no worries at all."
It wasn't that Kat had completely sworn off guys. She just didn't feel like dealing with childish games or having to suffer the hurt that usually came along with the whole dating scene. Katherine Finnigan felt that her one true love, Quidditch, deserved all of her attention and if she was to be hurt then it should be on the pitch because of some spectacular thing she'd done...or not done.

"I shold put you on a blind date." Lucinda joked and took another bite of her cake, "Maybe with oh I dunno my brother." She burst out laughing and said, "I kid I kid. I would never do that to you. I swear if you even dated my brother I would have yours and his head thouroughly scanned and your dad probably not like the fact of you and a malfoy."

Katherine burst out laughing at Lucinda's suggestion about setting her up on a blind date. If that wasn't amusing enough, the person whom her friend had mentioned was even more hilarious. "Oye! If you did that, he and I would probably both end up fatally wounded right at the door. I mean, we've never so much as talked but if he's all for the whole 'pureblood is better' type thing...then...yeah...we'd end up killing each other, I'd bet."
It was no lie. Katherine might have been exaggerating a little with the bit about killing but she'd done her fair share of scuffling with Slytherin guys that thought they were so much better than her. Just less than a week ago, she'd been hit with a early fired hex all because she was paired with an arrogant, slimy prat. Nodding, she added, "Trust me, if I ever dated your brother, I would have my head thoroughly scanned."

Lucinda laughed and said, "I'd make sure you had a second scan." Taking a few more bites she pulled her feet into the chair and crossed her legs and said, "You know we should definatley fly all these calories off together. Other wise they may pack into un needed and un desired pounds. We don't need or want that now so we?" She giggled and finished her milk.

Sticking yet another bit of her cake and ice cream into her mouth, Katherine looked down at her plate to note that nearly half of the delicious treat was gone. Scrunching her nose, she almost wanted to laugh at herself for eating so much of something that was sure to be troublesome later on...and to have done it so quickly. The worst part of all was that she still intended to finish it. After swallowing, she mumbled, "What mum doesn't know won't kill me."
As she glanced over at Lucinda, she nodded and replied, "I think you're right. Flying and about a billion miles worth of running. I can't afford to get fatter and out of shape if I want to make a professional team. That and my mum will kill me if she even suspects I ate even half as much cake as I have. Can't go ruining my figure even worse." The last sentence was said in a very mocking sort of tone as Katherine rolled her eyes.

"Girl tell your mom to fuck off. That's what I would do. Wait I already do that." She grinned and said, "Besides. Anything I eat never puts onto me. I could eat a horse and it still wouldn't add to my body. I must have a very high matabolism or something." Lucinda said with a shrug as she put cake in her mouth and puffed out her cheeks and said, "Is it me or do I look like a chipmunk?"

"Don't get me wrong, I love me mum and all. She just...I dunno. Sometimes she's a right nag about me keeping a girlish figure and all that tripe," Kat sighed, "She's a fashion writer for summat or another but I don't think she realizes I'm not the little girlies that she deals with all the time." Again, Katherine sighed softly to herself. That was probably why she was her father's daughter. He fully accepted her for everything she was and wasn't. She could be the exact opposite of what she was and he'd still love her. Just thinking about that, she smiled finally.
Shaking her head, she replied, "Oye! I wish I could be like that. I have to work myself to keep in Quidditch shape. I mean, I can eat and such but just not giant pieces of cake with ice cream and chocolate syrup." Just as she finished her statement, she watched Lucinda puffing up her cheeks. It was nearly impossible for her to not burst out giggling. Nodding, she covered her mouth to contain herself.

Lucinda swallowed her cake and laughed and said, "Can I knock some sense into your mom please!? She's driving me nuts and I don't even know her." She smirked and said, "People would think your an anorexic if your like me. I hardly eat but when I do eat it doesn't go straight to the body like most people and food does." She shrigged and said, "Always goes to the hips and ass. the worst of all places."

Kat laughed a little more and nodded fervently. "I bet you and my mum would bump heads like mad," she giggled, just thinking about it. Lavender Finnigan wasn't the evil type person. She was just stubborn, picky and knew what she liked and didn't like. She had expectations of her children, namely for Kat, that sometimes where within reason but that never stopped her from being adamant about pushing her kids. It didn't ever seem fair but it was something that Katherine had grown to live with.
Shoveling some more of the ice cream and a piece of strawberry into her mouth, the Hufflepuff girl took a glance around the cafe. She knew that all of the sweets were going to catch up with her later. Nonetheless, she knew just the workout to help with that. It wasn't so much that it would land her in hospital but plenty to deserve a hot bath after.

"More like ripping out each other's throats. Have you told your parents about our shopping trip yet? Or are you waiting to closer to the trip?" Lucinda asked as she finished off her cake and when no one was looking began licking the plate before stopping when nothing was left. "Hope they remember to wash this plate later." She giggled and sat it down and then went and asked for a mocha frappuchino. It was the only cafe with muggle coffee drinks.

The shopping trip. Kat hadn't mentioned it to her mother yet but she did send a letter along to her father letting him know all about Lucinda Malfoy and some of the things they'd done and planned. Her mum had nearly died when she got pictures of Kat all decorated in green so the Hufflepuff girl wasn't about to tell her mum just yet. It wasn't as though her mother could stop her from going considering Kat was already seventeen but she didn't really want to cross either of her parents...only toy with her mum a bit sometimes but always in good fun.
"I've told me dad already and he's okay with it...haven't told mum yet though," she replied with a grin, "Don't think she'd be keen on it after your lovely makeover. I figure I'll give her a bit of time to cool off from that before I tell her." Taking another bite or two of her cake, Katherine thought about needing something to drink. Milk wasn't her favourite thing so she contemplated having a nice glass of cold water once she was finished with the delightful dessert. One last bite and she pushed the plate aside to go purchase some water.

(SO SORRY for the late reply)
Lucinda nodded and said, "Ah yes green upon green make over. Your moum probably fainted. Besides if your dad met before you told him about me he'd probably say the same as everyone else. I am probably like my father in everything including looks........Maybe I should permantly dye my hair red. No to common to many weasley's she said quickly. and the red with my green robes would clash majorly."

"She went into a frantic outrage," Kat giggled with a huge grin, "Had a fit over it but dad calmed her down a little. Everyone else loved it so she couldn't say much. Just safer, though, for everyone if we wait until closer to our shopping trip before I tell her about us going." Katherine was sure both of her parents would be fine with it but she just didn't want to hear her mum nagging about the makeover again. It was enough listening to her go on about it once so a second go around wasn't something to look forward to.
Thinking about what else Lucinda said, Kat nodded and replied, "Yeah...my dad and yours didn't get along so great in school but I doubt very many Gryffindor and Slytherins did. He's cool with us being friends though...glad you're not like your dad and all that. She was about to tell Lucinda NOT to go for red hair when the Slytherin girl decided against it on her own. "Maybe black?"
{ooc: No worries at all!}
